A New Season Is Almost Upon Us!

Can you believe that it is August already and in just two more months, everyone will be starting their migration southward!!

Amigos de La Cruz would like to help you prepare for a generous and happy return to La Cruz. As you are getting ready for your trip, please consider the following suggestions.

Do you have an old computer, printer, etc that you might want to donate to Amigos? Old electronics can be refurbished and provided to the local schools.

Any school or arts and crafts type supplies are always appreciated. These can be used by the Open Air Library,  schools, or other groups with activities for children. Think about colored pencils and pens, colored paper, crayons, child safe scissors, glue, etc.

Books, especially for children in Spanish and English. Remember that Mega, Walmart, Costco and most likely Chedraui have book departments if unable to find books in Spanish at home.

If you cannot bring things with you, there is always the option of a cash or Paypal donation.

All money that Amigos de La Cruz collects by donations, memberships and fund raising programs and activities goes back into the community. These are our only ways of “earning” pesos for our budget, which is carefully planned and monitored so that we can pay for our street cleaning program, the recycling bins and pick up crew, the garbage cans, and the arroyo cleaning.

Occasionally special projects such as the Primary School bathroom construction also necessitate a donation from Amigos and it is nice to have some funds earmarked for special projects.

Amigos always has room for more volunteers to assist with fundraisers or other activities as they may occur.

The Amigos de La Cruz depends on you to make a difference. We encourage you to be part of the community voice, helping La Cruz to continue to be a wonderful place to live for all full and part time foreign and Mexican residents.
