Deja New Consignment Invites You to Clean Out Your Closets for Charity

Kathleen Palmer - Deja New Consignment
September 14, 2013

Planning your trip to Puerto Vallarta? It's so simple to support our local charities! Did you know you can neuter up to 20 animals with just one suitcase full of clothing donated to the account of The Colima FREE Spay & Neuter Clinic? That's right! It's that easy!

Just a reminder to everyone that Fashions for Charity will be opening at Paradise Community Center on November 1st. This will be a Seasonal Satellite Site featuring all of the clothing that is donated to Charity Consignment Accounts at Deja New.

Tell all of your friends to clean out their closets & max out their suitcases to 50 pounds OR to bring an extra suitcase full of clothing to donate to the charity consignment account of their choice! We can even sell the suitcase! (You can buy cheap suitcases at thrift stores)
Some of the fees airlines charge for checked suitcases:

• Westjet - FREE if you let them know it is for a charity, then Free, $20, $50
• Alaska Airlines - first 3 $20, $50 after that
• American - $25, $35, $150, 1st free in you have their credit card
• Delta - $25, $35, $125
• Frontier - $20, $20, $50
• Jet Blue - Free, $35, $75
• US Airlines - $25, $35, $125
• United - $25, $35, $100

Check with your airline to see if they will give you a charitable bag for free, then contact the charity of your choice for a letter, if needed. If you need help contacting the charity of your choice, please contact Kathleen at

Some of the accounts who currently raise money through the Deja New consignment accounts are Banderas Bay Women's Shelter, PuRR Project, IFC Cleft Palette Program, Los Mangos Library, CompassioNet Impact, SPCA de PV, Pasitos de Luz, Asilo San Juan Old Age Home, Corazon de Nina and Colina FREE Spay & Neuter Clinic. If you have another non-profit that doesn't yet have an account, this only requires someone coming in and requesting that the money from their consignments go to those non profits. We will then open an account for them and they will start earning money as the clothing sells.

Deja New is located in Old Town Vallarta at 280 Jacarandas, between Cardenas and Caranza. Telephone is (322) 157-4965.

Thank you everyone who has already donated to all of the charity accounts set up.
