Veterans Day is an official United States holiday which honors people who have served in armed service, also known as veterans.

It is a federal holiday that is observed on November 11. It coincides with other holidays such as Armistice Day and Remembrance Day, which are celebrated in other parts of the world and also mark the anniversary of the end of World War I.

Remembrance Day (also known as Poppy Day or Armistice Day) is a memorial day observed in Commonwealth countries since the end of World War I to remember the members of their armed forces who have died in the line of duty. This day, or alternative dates, is also recognized as special days for war remembrances in many non-Commonwealth countries. Remembrance Day is observed on November 11 to recall the end of hostilities of World War I on that date in 1918.

American, Canadian and Mexican citizens are welcome to pay tribute to those who gave there lives so the world could live in peace.

We will meet at Steve's Sports Bar (American Legion Post 14 Headquarters) on Monday, November 11, at 10:00 am, and walk down to the Plaza above the garage for a service. Steve's Sports Bar is located at 286 Basilio Badillo in Old Town Vallarta, telephone is (322) 222-0256. For more information, email Dennis Rike at dennisrike@hotmail.com.
