Every day, lives are saved and touched by first responders. Inspired by the actions of Puerto Vallarta’s brave first responders, the community felt a strong need to say thank you.
With the support of two dozen local firefighters and lifeguards who posed for the limited edition 14-month Heroes Calendar, fundraiser organizers proudly presented Sergio Ramirez Lopez, Director of Civil Protection and Fire, a check for $20,000 USD.
Funds will be earmarked to provide on-going community education as well as to fund training in all areas of emergency services, fire and life safety education, building and fire inspection, rescue, hazardous materials response, management of major emergency incidents and many other valuable program life-saving programs.
"The 90 men and women of our Department wish to express our sincere appreciation to those involved with the project and promise to invest this generous donation wisely," noted Department representative, Adrian Bobadilla Garcia.
Sponsors for the 2014 calendar included Andales on the Bay, Apaches, Banderas News, Bert & Cindy Ramirez, Bravo’s, Casa Isabel, Chuck Mallery & Wally Demary Jr., Diana’s Tours, Encuentros, JB’s on Olas Altas, Marcelo Mico, Margaret Souder & Mickey Adams, PVRPV.com, Rich Kaufman, Royal-Albion Property Management, Salud Super Food, and Timothy Real Estate Group.
The calendar production team included Josef Kandoll Wepplo, John McCloud, John Stewart, Alex Daoud and Dora Robles. Gary Green and Tim Longpre oversaw the project.
