PuRR Project is sorry to announce that it is currently unable to accept more rescues as we have 260 cats and are now 110 OVER capacity.

Our volunteers are desperately working to find homes for the ones that are potentially adoptable so we can change this unfortunate situation.

If you'd like to help the cats currently at our shelter, please adopt one and/or visit our DONATE page. Thank you for caring and understanding.

Joanna pulled off a PuRR-fect performance

Kitty Bingo on Thursday afternoons at Route 66 Rock N Roll Diner will continue through March for SURE. We may decide to continue on through the spring months if the participation is there.

Bingo has been an important fundraiser for us this past month. Along with donations at the Market and on PayPal, it has allowed us to keep afloat with expenses, but the off-season is fast approaching and the Market closes in May. We need to prepare for summer when the rain pours but donations dry up.

Last Thursday was a huge hit, with Joanna calling the numbers like a real pro... couldn't believe it was his first time!!

If you missed his PuRR-fect performance, catch the show at The Palm Mondays or Wednesdays. And, be at the Diner on Basilio Badillo in Old Town every Thursday at 4:30 pm for you chance to be a WINNER and shout "MEOW"!

Hint: March 22nd will be another "Surprise" caller standing in for Mikki Prost.

The PuRR Shelter - Sandra Wickham and her husband Ross Webb recently visited Puerto Vallarta and had inquired by e-mail about arranging a shelter visit.

Forewarned to dress casually, bring a bottle of water and a camera, the couple set out on their Purr-fect Mexican adventure on a sunny afternoon, escorted by volunteer Dave Robertson.

As a special surprise, Sandra had made a stack of little blankets to line boxes with and provide a super warm place for kitties to cuddle on our chilly (for the tropics!!) winter nights. Ross reported she was even busy crocheting blankets on the plane ride down!

They absolutely LOVED their visit and we hope to see them again next year. If you are interested in info on visiting the shelter or donating cat toys or supplies (kitty litter, Kirkland Adult Maintenance food, Clorox, hand sanitizer, detergent, mops, brooms, etc) please contact Marilyn at exkhan@usfamily.net.

Gary Mellen and Mellow Max prepare to leave the shelter

Adoptions - A couple of weeks ago, we had an inquiry from Gary Mellen who had recently relocated to Puerto Vallarta and missed the company of a cat, but was looking for a specific breed, an adult Flame Point Siamese male.

With over 200 cats in the shelter's gardens, we figured there HAD to be something fitting that description!

Volunteer Marilyn reports: "We arrived at the shelter and were greeted by many cats and Gary immediately spotted the cat of his dreams. A Komedy Kops chase routine ensued with all of us trying to scoop us this kitty who, unfortunately, had other ideas.

Eventually, we decided it was not meant to be and sat down to chill out. That was when another BEAUTIFUL Siamese sauntered over to Gary and climbed into his lap. He had found his Max.

Sometimes that's the way it works... they choose US.

Gary reports that Max was very mellow on the drive home and is settling into his new digs. We look forward to more of this story and how Max likes spending the summers in upstate New York.

If you are interested in adopting one of our many loving adult cats, please contact Linda Brasseal at lbrasseal@yahoo.com for more information.
