Following is just an overview of all the events and festivities happening this week in Vallarta-Nayarit.
PV Chamber Orchestra Spring Concert - Monday
Come and join us in this musical celebration of Latin American color, rhythm and "sabor!"
The Spring Concert begins at 8:00 pm at the Paradise Village Community Center in Nuevo Vallarta.
Chacala Music Festival - Monday through Sunday
Something Magical & Musical is happening at the heart of Riviera Nayarit, in the crown jewel village of Chacala-by-the-sea … a seven day & night celebration of music … a festival … an unforgettable bringin’-in-the-spring fling!
One night in March, 2012 at a Friday night roof-top reception, a group of attendees began to break out in song, regaling the crowd spontaneously with music from Broadway Musicals. The group began to realize that Chacala might just be a perfect place to celebrate music and other arts: thus was borne the Chacala Village Music Festival.
This year, the Chacala Village Music Festival will take place from March 24 to 30, 2014.
IFC Waffle Breakfast at River Cafe - Tuesday
The International Friendship Club (IFC) is celebrating International Waffle Day by holding a Waffle Breakfast at the River Café on March 25.
The breakfast will begin at 9:30 am with tickets available online, at the IFC Clubhouse, or at the door for 200 pesos per person. It also happens to be Pecan Day so the "signature" waffle will be a Pecan Waffle.
The ticket includes your choice of a Pecan Waffle topped with Banana Sauce, a Classic Waffle topped with Chocolate and Strawberries or Apples and Cinnamon, or for the traditionalist a Denver Omelet with ham, bell pepper, onion and cheese served with roasted potatoes will also be available. All meals come with Juice, and coffee or tea. Your gratuity is included in your ticket price. The breakfast will have door prizes and raffle tickets for some great items donated by generous local merchants.
The money raised on March 25 from the Waffle Breakfast will assist a very worthy food aid program, the IFC Rice and Beans Program. The program provides food aid to community centers that support children and families in economic need.
WesMex Regatta at Vallarta Yacht Club - Wednesday through Sunday
This year the Vallarta Yacht Club is honored to have the WesMex Regatta chosen as one of five national regattas in the Mexican Circuit by the class associations of Optimist, Laser, and 420s. Now in its ninth year, International WesMex Regatta 2014 will be a qualifier for the Mexican Sailing Team to represent the country in various international youth competitions.
Headquarters for the WesMex Regatta 2014 will be the Vallarta Yacht Club with registration, training and racing on March 26 - 30, 2014.
International Film Fest at CUCosta - Wednesday through Sunday
After a five year hibernation, the 14th International Film Festival (FICPV) will return to Puerto Vallarta on March 26 through April 4 at University of Guadalajara Centro Universitario de la Costa (CUCosta).
Admission is free for the Film Fest and will include a sampling of short films, screenings of renowned international directors, and the presentation of "Huston" given by Irish scenario writer Jim Sheridan.
Calendar Girls at The Boutique - Thursday through Sunday
The Boutique in Old Town Vallarta is proud to announce the opening of Calendar Girls by Tim Firth and directed by Karrie Sebryk.
Puerto Vallarta's very own Calendar Girls casted with our local talent, including Mikki Prost, will take the stage on March 27, 28, 29 at 7:00 pm, with Sunday afternoon matinee on March 30 at 4:00 pm.
"Everything is possible for the love of a friend!" is the story line for this great play.

Another way to spend some very worthwhile time in Vallarta-Nayarit is to volunteer at one of the Banderas Bay non-profits that will welcome you with open arms. It will make you feel good too! You will see the tabs above for all the categories.
We invite you to add your charity or supporting organizations' news stories and coming events to PVAngels so we can share them with the world. Do it now!
If you would like to donate directly to the non-profits in Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit, here are some suggestions you may want to consider to help our local communities in this time of greatest need.
