Even though the high season is winding down, there are still plenty of events and festivities happening this week in Vallarta-Nayarit.

Following is just an overview of all the events and festivities happening this week in Vallarta-Nayarit.

Rodrigo Ballester Exhibit in San Pancho - Monday

In step with its title of Cultural Capital of the Riviera Nayarit, San Pancho (aka San Francisco) is extending an invitation to view a new art exhibit to be displayed at Bodega 3, an exhibition space that recently opened its doors to presentations by artists not belonging to the San Pancho Collective.

The current expo is titled Cuaderno de artista: Guorquin proces, created by self-taught plastic artist Rodrigo Ballester, originally from Xalapa, Veracruz.

The inauguration of this particular gallery was on April 30th, a date that falls on Mexico’s celebration of Children’s Day. The artwork produced by Ballester will occupy the entire Bodega 3 gallery floor in order to fully display his splendid pieces.

ACT LGBT Business & Networking Meeting - Tuesday

We invite you to attend our monthly business and networking session at the Taste Restaurant at Casa Cupula on Tuesday, May 13, from 6:30 until 8:30 pm.

Nancy Page will talk about Google analytics and how to make sense of the data from your website.

She will demonstrate the power of better knowing your website users and about all the terms that this incredible tool has to offer.

Admission is free for this event and everybody is welcome. You only pay for what you eat and drink.

Fandango at Teatro Vallarta - Wednesday 
Fandango returns to the Teatro Vallarta stage for Wednesday evening performances through May of 2014.

The amazing stage show Fandango brings together theater, dance and music in an international Mexican format with more than 40 dancers and musicians.

Fandango is an emotional show that fills us with pride for all of Mexico and it was created here in the state of Jalisco.

The Wednesday evening performances begin at 6:30 pm. Show dates are May 14, 21, 28.

Vallarta Soccer Cup Competitions - Wednesday through Sunday
The Twelfth Annual Tournament of Copa Vallarta Soccer will be held in different areas of Puerto Vallarta from May 14 until May 18, where both males and females will be competing in multiple categories.

The Copa Vallarta Soccer Tournament is one of the most important events of amateur soccer in our country, because of the age range of the competitors and their great involvement and camaraderie.

Male and female categories will range from ages 6 to 18 competing in different venues around Puerto Vallarta.

Summer Fashion Show at No Way Jose! - Thursday

As the sultry summer nights have arrived here in Puerto Vallarta, here's your opportunity to preview the new summer fashions by local aspiring designers and established icons.

Join us on Thursday, May 15 at 8:00 pm at No Way Jose! where you will be presented with the newest summer fashions of swimwear, shoes and amazing jewelry.

Restaurant Week Vallarta-Nayarit - Thursday through Sunday
With “one of the longest runs in contemporary Mexican culinary events,” Puerto Vallarta Restaurant week will celebrate its tenth year in 2014.

Puerto Vallarta is one of Mexico’s top culinary centers — with a diverse selection of restaurants that range from street fare to five stars. It seems little surprise that the city’s restaurant week, running from May 15th-31st, boasts such a glowing reputation.

Guayafest Volkswagen Weekend - Saturday & Sunday 
The TPC Bugs Club of Tepic announces Guayafest 2014 for all those Volkswagen fans, where the proud owners will display classic to current VW's in the main plaza of Rincon de Guayabitos, Nayarit, on May 17 and 18, 2014.

This will be the 15th Annual Friends of Volkswagen event (15th Annual Reunion de Amigos del Volkswagen) and the two days of festivities are free and open to the public.

Open Water Swimming Competition - Saturday 
The Aguas Abiertas Open Water Swimming Competition is organized by Nado Seguro and will take place on May 17, 2014, beginning at 7:00 am at the Riviera Nayarit Marina of La Cruz de Huanacaxtle.

The event attracts swimmers across every age group from 7 years and above with categories like juvenile, master, handicapped and professional. The number of swimmers is limited to 700.

Beers, Boys & Burgers Pool Party - Sunday
Want to see hot guys in swimwear every Sunday? And top off that view with unlimited juicy burgers and cold beer? Then our Beers, Boys & Burgers event at Hotel Mercurio is your perfect Sunday Funday!

Every Sunday, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, the pool at the Hotel Mercurio is the hottest scene in the city for hot guys in their sexiest swimwear making it a favorite hangout for both residents and visitors.
