Following is just an overview of all the events and festivities happening this week in Vallarta-Nayarit.

Sky Dive Beach Boogie - Monday through Sunday 
Everything is set for the 2015 Pachanga Beach Boogie, now in its third year. Organized by SkydiveMex, it will take place in the Riviera Nayarit — specifically in Nuevo Vallarta — from February 13th through the 22nd.

“We are expecting the participation of 100 professional skydivers from all over the world, who will gather here to add more jumps to their scorecards and compare their skydiving abilities,” commented Diego Orozco, Director of Skydivemex.

The main objective is to offer yet another recreational option to the inhabitants of the bay area, as well as to visitors; tandem jumps will be available for amateurs, who will jump attached to a professional skydiver.

Mardi Gras Parade - Tuesday 

Puerto Vallarta's Annual Mardi Gras Parade will hit the streets on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at 8:00 pm.

This city-sponsored bead-hurling parade will start in front of the Municipal Stadium and will travel south along the world-famous malecon, through "Old Town" to Olas Altas and the stunning new pier which inspired this year's logo designed by Guillermo Palafox Hernandez.

Mexi-Gras CVIS Scholarship Fundraiser - Tuesday 

Mark your calendars for Tuesday, February 17th at 6:00 pm for the Costa Verde International School’s 8th annual scholarship fundraiser at Don Pedro's. This year’s theme is all about fun, as Sayulita meets New Orleans for a Fat Tuesday celebration in support of this school.

Tamra Koch, a founding board member of Costa Verde, and Lina Weissman, a board member of Costa Verde, sit down with El Sayulero to share more about this school, the event, and why you will want to attend Mexi-Gras!

Academy Awards Screenings - Tuesday through Saturday

Join the Democrats Abroad Costa Banderas Chapter for the series of Academy Awards nominated movies continuing until February 21.

The venue for the screenings will be the International Frieldship Club in Downtown Puerto Vallarta.

American Consulate at IFC - Wednesday 

For the convenience of American expats and visitors living on the southside of Puerto Vallarta, the U.S. Consular Office of Vallarta-Nayarit has arranged a special trip from the Nuevo Vallarta offices to the International Friendship Club in Downtown/Old Town Vallarta.

Kelly Trainor's Consular services will be available on Wednesday, February 18 beginning at 10:00 am.

The preliminary schedule will be to offer Notary services from 10:00 until 11:00 followed by various Consular services beginning at 11:00. No appointments, first come, first served. You must arrive by 12 NOON to receive a number and be served during this visit!

Equus at Act II Main Stage - Wednesday through Saturday

Equus is a timeless classic and a cornerstone of contemporary drama that delves into the darkest recesses of human existence plays until February 21st on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 pm. There will be a Saturday matinee on February 14th at 2:00 pm.

Equus tells the story of a psychiatrist who attempts to treat a young man who has a pathological, religious fascination with horses. An explosive play that took critics and audiences by storm.

Rural Organic Farm Walk - Thursday 

If you enjoy local history and getting off the beaten tourist track, you'll love the Rural Organic Farm Walk.

Sandra Cesca of Escape Route Vallarta will return with this every Thursday adventure beginning on January 8, 10:00 am.

We take the local bus to rural pre-Hispanic El Tuito one hour south of Vallarta.

Southside Shuffle - Friday 
 
Take a stroll down Basilio Badillo every other Friday for art, jewelry, fashion, collectibles, restaurants, food, drinks, live music and fun.

Over eighteen Shops, Galleries & Restaurants open their doors for the return of the Friday evening Southside Shuffle in Old Town Vallarta.

This is one of Vallarta's more festive events and the party runs from 6:00 to 10:00 pm and features live music, cocktails and all kinds of great stuff.

Southside Shuffle dates are February 20, March 6 & 20.

Children's Art Auction Preview & Festival - Friday and Saturday 

Don’t miss the 7th Annual Childrens’ Art Festival "Love Your World" to be held at Entreamigos Community Education Center in San Pancho on Saturday, February 21st at 6:00 pm.

Join your friends and neighbors for a lively evening of great local food and beverages, music and dancing, live and silent auctions, and AMAZING CHILDREN’S ART.

All auction items will be available for you to preview the afternoon before. So come to the EntreAmigos Community Open House Friday, February 20 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. Everyone is welcome, and it is free of charge.

Guayabitos Cultural Arts Festival - Saturday 

Following tradition, this series of events will take place every Saturday during the month of February 2015.

The presentations begin at 8:00 pm on the dot at this seaside village’s main plaza and the invitation is open to all neighboring towns, as well as tourists and residents.

The Grupo de Danza Nayar kicked off the festivities on Saturday the 7th; the Falsa Orquesta Cubana filled the night with music on the 14th; then on the 21st the Violines Internacionales Hermanos Aguascalientes will take over. Last but not least, the Circo Dragón will put on a show on February 28th.

Taste of Lo De Marcos - Sunday 

Sunday, the 22nd of February 2015 will see a Kermes (a neighborhood party to raise funds) from 3:00 until 7:00 pm at the Centro de Fiestas Los Delfines in Lo De Marcos, Riviera Nayarit, as we host the 2nd Annual Taste of Lo De Marcos.

In addition to live music, the event will feature foods from many restaurants ranging from casual to Five Star Dining and several Artisanal Booths with handcrafted items for purchase.

PuRR Project Adult Bingo at the Palm - Sunday  

Adult Bingo is back by popular demand – the next date will be Sunday, February 22, starting at 4:00 pm at the Palm Cabaret in Old Town Vallarta.

The fabulous Amy Armstrong, accompanied by the Greater Tuna ladies and whoever else might wander onstage, will take over the microphone and all sorts of craziness will ensue…including some very special X-rated prizes!

Grab a friend & grab a table for a lot of fun in supporting the 150+ PuRR Project Shelter kitties.

Farmers Markets in Vallarta-Nayarit - Every day of the week
