Following is just an overview of all the events and festivities happening this week in Vallarta-Nayarit.
Tom Coster at Vallarta Yacht Club - Monday
VYC is again honored to welcome celebrated keyboardist and award winning composer Tom Coster for a dinner show on Monday, February 23.
During Tom's long and distinguished career he has played with some of the finest artists in rock and jazz, including Carlos Santana, Vital Information, Gabor Szabo, Third Eye Blind and Loading Zone. He has also produced an incredible number of solo projects.
This will be a dinner concert. Dinner service will start at 6:00 pm with the concert at approximately 7:30.
Amy Armstrong 'Diva Loca' at The Palm - Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday & Sunday
Known as having "The Voice of an Angel," Amy Armstrong opened her solo performances at The Palm Cabaret without Freddy Allen. She has grown to become one of this town's favorite performers.
This is her tenth year at The Palm and her following has skyrocketed deservedly so. The audience was one of the most excited and appreciative we have witnessed in months.
There was nearly a standing ovation as she entered the stage singing "Hey Big Spender."
Capturing and Preserving Family Memories - Tuesday
On Tuesday, February 24 at 7:00 pm the International Friendship Club (IFC) is hosting an interactive workshop led by Candace George Thompson, author of the award-winning family saga, Still Having Fun, a Portrait of a Military Marriage. Candace will facilitate "The Gift of Story: Capturing and Preserving Family Memories." Donation for IFC charities is 50 pesos at the door.
You are invited to discover easy ways to capture family memories as Ms. Thompson shares family traditions and habits such as special event letters and a memory jar. Take away concrete ideas and resources for engaging your entire family.
Canadian Consular at IFC - Wednesday
Patrick Courcelles, Canadian Consular Agent / Agent Consulaire of Puerto Vallarta, will present an informative PowerPoint presentation and General Information Session at the IFC Clubhouse on Wednesday February 25 from 10:00 - 11:30 am.
Please note that this will be an informational gathering only, no consular business will be conducted.
The public is welcome and there is no charge to attend.
Wine Fest in Vallarta-Nayarit - Wednesday through Sunday
The wine glasses are ready to be filled in Puerto Vallarta because from February 25 to March 1 the IX Vallarta Wine Fest Vallarta-Nayarit 2015 Edition will be held in 9 restaurants and 4 hotels in this region; for this year, the feast of the wine culture includes a keynote, a national competition of sommeliers, the expo wine and the traditional popular dance.
The Puerto Vallarta Tourism Trust advises that the Vallarta Wine Fest 2015 will begin on Wednesday, February 25 at 6:00 in the afternoon with a welcome to the participants, press, restaurants, hotels, winemakers and sommeliers at Casa Velas Hotel with the presence of more than one dozen renowned experts in the process of making wine, the way of serving it and the pairings.
PV Garden Club Party - Thursday
We are delighted to announce the 2nd annual Puerto Vallarta Garden Club party in celebration of our continued efforts to beautify Puerto Vallarta. The date is Thursday, February 26 from 6:30 until 10:00 pm. The venue this year will be the beautiful Hacienda Palo Maria.
Hacienda Palo Maria is a stately hacienda reflecting the elegance of Old Mexico, set in lush gardens right on the ocean. Mr. Phil Stewart has graciously opened the doors of his beautiful home for this event.
As anyone who attended last year's sold out event at Casa Chickie knows, PV Garden Club hosts the biggest and best party of the season! The best of everything - location, entertainment, food, dancing and wine.
Signs of the Times Play - Thursday through Saturday
Live Theater Sayulita will present three one-act plays by the inimitable Shel Silverstein, billed as Signs of the Times on February 26, 27, and 28. Performances will begin at 8:00 pm with two brief intermissions to allow theater-goers to purchase wine, beer and water.
One month later, March 26, 27, and 28, you will be treated to a production of Driving Miss Daisy, the Pulitzer Prize winning show written by Alfred Uhry.
13th National Charro Competition - Thursday through Sunday
The 13th edition of the National Charro Championship is about to begin and is expected to be the best Charro festivity in the region.
Hosted by the Charros Association of Vallarta, the Championship and festivities will be held from February 26 through March 1, 2015.
Chicago at Nuevo Vallarta Stage - Friday
Set in the legendary city during the roaring “jazz hot” 20s, Chicago tells the story of two rival vaudevillian murderesses locked up in Cook County Jail.
Nightclub star Velma is serving time for killing her husband and sister after finding the two in bed together.
Chicago performances are on Fridays at 7:30 pm beginning until March 27. Tickets are available at Vallarta Tickets.
San Pancho Music Festival - Friday through Sunday
It’s our 15th year!! And this year’s celebration will be better than ever!
The 15th Annual San Pancho Music Festival will take place on Friday, February 27th through Sunday, March 1st, 2015 in San Francisco, Nayarit, Mexico. As in past years, the event takes place on the last weekend of February. And, as always, we very much appreciate donations from those that attend the Music Festival!
This year San Pancho is celebrating its 15th year as host of the Music Festival. The Festival has evolved markedly from its original beginnings in the backyard of a local resident in 2001. With its growing success the Music Festival has gained a reputation for featuring new and exciting performing artists from the Nayarit region, as well as musicians from the United States, Canada, and Latin America.
The celebration of music begins at 5:00 pm each day, with performances up until 11:00 each night.
Guayabitos Cultural Arts Festival - Saturday
Following tradition, this series of events will take place every Saturday during the month of February 2015.
The presentations begin at 8:00 pm on the dot at this seaside village’s main plaza and the invitation is open to all neighboring towns, as well as tourists and residents.
The Grupo de Danza Nayar kicked off the festivities on Saturday the 7th; the Falsa Orquesta Cubana filled the night with music on the 14th; then on the 21st the Violines Internacionales Hermanos Aguascalientes took over. Last but not least, the Circo Dragón will put on a show on February 28th.
Urban Farmer Workshop for Banderas Bay Growers - Saturday and Sunday
