Following is just an overview of all the events and festivities happening this week in Vallarta-Nayarit.
American Legion & Navy League Fundraiser at Murphys Irish Pub - Monday
Let's gather at Murphy's Irish Pub on Monday, March 16, at noon for an Irish party fundraiser.
The purpose of the party is to eat and drink Irish, to raise funds for the Navy League and American Legion, and to have fun!!
International Film Festival - Monday through Friday
The 15th International Film Festival (FICPV) will return to Puerto Vallarta on March 11 - 20, 2015 at University of Guadalajara Centro Universitario de la Costa (CUCosta).
Four sections will integrate this edition of the FICPV: the Official Section, the Diversity Section, the Gourmet Section and the Academic Section.
Jazz Concert & Spring Jazz Fest at Cuates & Cuetes - Monday through Saturday
As a prelude leading up to annual Spring Jazz Festival on March 21, there will be concerts nightly from 8:00 until 10:00 pm at the ever popular Cuates & Cuetes by the Los Muertos Pier in Old Town Vallarta.
The grand finale will take place on the beach on Saturday, March 21 from 4:00 until 10:00 pm featuring a continuous flow of great artists and entertainment.
There is no cover charge for these events but food and drink is available from Cuates & Cuetes.
Whodunit Dinner Theater in La Cruz - Tuesday and Wednesday
Come join in the fun of sleuthing who the murderer is while enjoying dinner with friends and the cast of The Amigos de La Cruz Players as they present Murder, Mayhem and Green Marshmallow Salad!!
Join the Amigos for this St. Patrick's Whodunit on Tuesday, March 17th and Wednesday, March 18th, 2015 at Philo's in La Cruz.
The play starts at 6:30 pm and is general seating so come early and be sure to wear something green.
What a Drag Fundraiser - Wednesday
Get ready for a jam packed night full of laughs, garish makeup and straight men parading around in high heels like Bambi on ice!
Come to Act II Entertainment on Wednesday March 18th at 7:00 pm for hand passed appetizers followed by the show at 8:00 pm all in support of Banderas Bay Women's Shelter.
Childrens Circus in San Pancho - Thursday and Friday
For the third year in a row, El Circo de los Niños (The Children’s Circus), headquartered in San Pancho, the Cultural Capital of the Riviera Nayarit, is ready to present their big show. This year, the title of the presentation is “Dar a Luz,” or “Giving Birth.”
Showtime on both March 19th and 20th is at 7:30 pm and at 4:00 pm on March 21st. The event has the full support of the Groups Department of the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau, as it is the only one of its kind for miles around and it reinforces the cultural tourism to the destination.
Into The Woods at American School - Thursday through Saturday
The American School of Puerto Vallarta is proud to present its spring musical production "Into the Woods."
The musical will have a three day run at the ASPV stage in the primary school. The dates are March 19, 20 & 21 at 7:00 pm each evening.
"Into the Woods" is an exciting and funny musical comedy that twists familiar fairy tales into a brand new story. When a Baker and his Wife learn they've been cursed by the Witch next door, they embark on a quest for the special objects required to break the spell; swindling, deceiving and stealing from Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel and Jack (the one who climbed the beanstalk)!
SUP Punta Sayulita Classic - Thursday through Sunday
Good news for SUP lovers! Stand Up Paddle Mexico and Punta Sayulita have teamed up to organize the 6th annual SUP Classic as part of the Mexico SUP Tour. The event will take place from March 20-22 in Sayulita, Riviera Nayarit.
The main focus will be on the Elite and Distance race, in which a number of paddle board pros will compete against each other for a slice of the over $10,000 USD in prizes.
De Colores Dinner, Dance & Auction - Saturday
Get ready for one of PV’s most inspiring and unique events as The Puerto Vallarta Men’s Chorus hosts its 3rd DE COLORES fundraising gala Saturday, March 21, 6:00 pm, at Oscar’s Restaurant in the heart of Vallarta at the edge of the Bahía de Banderas.
The annual cocktail party, live and silent auctions, dinner and dance under the stars, features performances by the Chorus throughout the evening. DE COLORES has become one of the season’s most anticipated events and the Chorus is going all out to create another memorable night this year.
Paws for the Cause Fundraiser - Sunday
Please join us at our 2nd Annual "Paws for the Cause" fundraising event on Sunday, March 22 from 1:00 - 4:00 pm at Eddie's on the River.
The event will feature a delicious BBQ, silent auction, raffles and LIVE music.
All proceeds go towards supporting our efforts at the Centro de Acopio (PV Animal Shelter) and for other abandoned animals in the Puerto Vallarta area.
Chamber Orchestra Spring Concert - Sunday
We have a wonderful program planned: Bizet's Carmen, Schubert's Unfinished Symphony, Grieg's Peer Gynt, and the world premier of Orpheus, composed by Vallarta's very own John Robertson.
On Sunday, March 22 our afternoon performance will begin at 4:00 in Nuevo Vallarta at the Salon Paraiso (beside the Harkness Institute, between the shopping plaza at the entrance to Paradise Village and the hospital).
Our evening performance in Puerto Vallarta will be presented on Monday, March 23 at 8:00 at the Hotel Krystal, located in the Hotel Zone, on Route 200/Francisco Medina Ascensio.
Farmers Markets in Vallarta-Nayarit - Every day of the week (except Wednesday)
You'll see on our Events Calendar that there is at least one Farmers Market every day of the week, except Wednesday, in different locations around the Bay.
