The Costa Verde International School in Sayulita, Riviera Nayarit, has just announced the Surf-A-Thon 2012, a fundraising event to take place alongside the upcoming National Paddleboard Championship, on Saturday, June 9.
Local surfers, students and families will be surfing and enjoying themselves at Sayulita’s main break from noon to 5:00 pm, with surf activities hosted by Sergio and Patricia Gonzalez.
An after party will begin at 5:00 pm at the Punta Sayulita Beach House.
An entrance fee of 250 pesos per person provides access to drinks, food and music. In addition, a raffle will be held with prices that include beach vacations and surf boards.
All proceeds from the event will go directly to the Costa Verde International School's Scholarship Fund to support local children going to school.
It is also possible to sponsor surfers participating in the event by visiting the school's online sponsorship page, where PayPal donations are accepted.
Costa Verde International School is the first green school in Nayarit, offering bilingual quality education to children in the Sayulita area. They offer programming for Preschool through Middle School, and also provide a Language School and Sustainability Center to the community.
