Two world renowned towns exist a short distance from each other, Puerto Vallarta and Punta Mita. People travel from around the world to visit these two vacation destinations. Hidden between these two stars is a small gem that is beginning to shine brighter, La Cruz de Huancaxtle.

La Cruz de Huancaxtle, locally called “La Cruz” is known by two large groups. The first group is boaters as La Cruz is home to one of Mexico’s newest marinas, Marina Riviera Nayarit. It sits on the Banderas Bay with access to the Pacific Ocean. The boardwalk has views of the entire bay and the boardwalk is home to one of the best farmers markets in the Bahia de Banderas.

Additionally, the Marina hosts numerous events including the International Fishing Tournament of La Cruz, Regata Copa Mexico and Full-moon Paddle-SUP-Rally.

Fish lovers flock to Marina Riviera Nayarit when the fresh catch of the day is for sale in Mercado del Mar.

The second group of people in the know are those beach lovers that long for a large beach that remains peaceful and perfect for swimming. La Cruz is home to Destiladeras beach. If you love a place where the waves roll in slowly and the sand extends far out to sea then this is the place for you.

Not to be outdone by its neighbours, the town of La Cruz boasts shops and restaurants to satisfy every taste and budget: Frascati, Sandzibar and Black Forest.
