With the beginning of the 2015-2016 school year in Puerto Vallarta on Monday, there were a number of teacher vacancies that delayed the start of some classroom activities.

The regional delegate of Educational Services of the Ministry of Education Jalisco, Roberto Palomera Preciado, said his staff is working to fill the vacancies and to promptly resolve the problem and expects to fully cover all classrooms by the end of this week.

He explained that this is due to promotions that were recently awarded (teacher to group director, director to supervisor and supervisor to chief of sector) as well as pensions that became effective in the past holiday period.
