Hi guys,

Posting this massively jet lagged and on too much vino tinto!

Returned from our first visit to PV on Saturday, August 29th. We did 2 weeks from 14th August.

I'd researched this hol/resort for months before we travelled so I was full of confidence when we set off armed with JR's maps etc. (Tripadvisor Puerto Vallarta Forum)

We stayed at the Now Amber which is the most southerley/centrally placed hotel for UK/Thomson travellers. We came on a full Dreamliner and literally 12 people came to our hotel, I assume the rest went to Nuevo (I know the Riu's were cheaper).

We stayed Fri - Fri / 2 weeks. Both Sunday's we 'did' the Malecon, starting at the Plaza watching the locals dance etc. A few people from our hotel came along with us and they loved it, they admitted they were a bit scared to leave the hotel at night but trusted me and my maps (thanks JR!).

We had a few further nights out in town, we took our new friends to Los Muertes Brew pub which they loved and we visited Bar La Playa a couple of times which was tremendous. We had beers on the sand outside Cuates y Cuetes, I told them about my obsession with the Webcam and they turned it on us sitting on the beach drinking beers which was cool. We sat there watching the sunset and the Pelicans dive between the locals for fish, priceless.

We did the wild dolphin tour in the bay with Wildlife Connections (amazing).

We did El Salado a Estuary and held baby Crocs (our daughters fav animal!).

Hubby George did a Mountain biking ride with Ecoride with a new found friend from the hotel (otherwise it would have been just him).

We went to the Meet and Greet our first Tues and met the absolute LEGEND that is JR.!!!!!!! I felt like I was meeting a Celeb!!! Thank you so much for your time JR., we loved meeting you and have told all the folks back home about you!

We had a lovely meal on the sand one night at Si Señor. We noticed the place next door was much busier so maybe we picked wrong? However George said it was the best steak he'd had outside the hotel.

We had a couple of lost afternoons at Bar La Playa and even tried the traditional bar snack of dried crickets on a slice of orange with spicey salt. Interesting!

George went to the bar outside our hotel and was given a plate of cucumber with mad hot chili sauce on it, he ate most if it, he loves hot food!

The icing on the already tremendous cake was our daughter making friends at the hotel, it made a big difference to our holiday!

I know we haven't even scratched the surface of PV but this is the first time George has admitted it was great and that he'd come back so watch this space!

Thank you all so much for your tips and advice, I will still follow this forum in case we come back and you are all so lovely,

Adios
