This year's Mujeres a Mujeres (Women to Women) 13th Anniversary Fashion Show will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2016.
Our theme for this year's show is the Roaring 20's and the day promises to be one of fun and celebration.
Our beautiful new venue will be the newly remodeled and refurbished Zocalo (Town Square) in Rincon De Guayabitos, Riviera Nayarit, Mexico. Doors open at 11:00 am, with lunch beginnng at Noon and the Fashion Show begining approximately 1:00 pm.
Please come early, prepared to enjoy our Silent Auction (Cash Only!).
Every winter the Women to Women group puts on Jaltemba Bay Fashion Show to raise funds for projects in the Jaltemba Bay area of Mexico. This area includes the communities of Guayabitos, La Peñita, La Colonia and Los Ayala, all in the state of Nayarit.
For more than a dozen years the Women to Women Fashion Show has been the premier social event on the coast. This exciting afternoon has a purpose: the proceeds have always gone directly back to this rural community. Our major focus is education in the form of grants to enable local young ladies attend the university of their choice. Another of the causes supported over the years is the Cancer de Mama Clinic for breast cancer survivors. Other projects include the delivery of Christmas baskets to families in need and lunches for students at the local junior high that would otherwise go without. Fashion show funds were also used in the building of a local kindergarten and to install a kitchen at the local Seniors Center.
While dedicated to supporting all these causes, the fashion show itself is also an opportunity for local designers to showcase their talent and for volunteers to model their designs. Others get to enjoy this festive event in a variety of volunteer capacities.
We are also looking for volunteers, both for the day of the fashion show and for involvement prior to.
