Following is just an overview of all the events and festivities happening this week in Vallarta-Nayarit.
Paint the Town Red Dinner Theatre - Monday
Get ready for a new fun-filled tour great for both tourists and locals. Paint the Town Red is an easy way to enjoy the best Puerto Vallarta has to offer whether you are on-your-own tourist, local or want to meet new friends.
Paint the Town Red operates on Mondays and meets at 5:15 pm at Tre Piatti Italian Restaurant, Lazaro Cardenas 292. Tour Co-owner and escort Christie Selph stated “We are excited to be partnering with Act 2 entertainment and The Palm to offer their shows to our guests. This is a dinner theatre highlighting the many talented musical and entertainment performers coming to these venues.”
Bucerias Town Festival - Monday through Sunday
As every year, this runs 16 – 24 January, with food stalls in the Bucerias Central Plaza area and dance displays of different kinds, and many other stalls lining Ave Mexico and Cuahtemoc.
Events throughout the Fiesta are mainly in the evenings.
The one constant is the Blessing of the Fleet on the 24th.
This is the highlight of the week long Bucerias fiesta and is an event not to be missed.
Mamas and the Papas California Dreamin - Monday and Wednesday
The historical music of the Mamas and the Papas was presented by four singers: Jenny Allen, Stephanie Wright Watts, Joseph Dane and Elviz Martinez. Don Pope and Rhonda Podmos, who served as the group's vocal director and conductor, supplied background vocals. On drums and electric guitar were Jesus Estrada and Roberto Falcon. The singers executed four-part harmony with each taking a line or two, just as in the original song recordings. This quartet was phenomenal, resurrecting the smooth, rich and sweet but strong vocals of the renowned members.
California Dreamin' will be performed on the Main Stage of Act II Entertainment every Monday and Wednesday at 7:00 pm through January 27, 2016.
Bazaar & Flea Market at Marsol - Tuesday
We invite you to join us in the spacious lobby of the Marsol Hotel for our Bazaar and Flea Market.
We will be there to welcome you on on Tuesday, January 19 from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm.
You will receive great bargains on furniture, household goods, gently used clothing, jeans, shoes, books, jewelry, crafts, art, posters, etc.
Fashion Show Benefit for La Cruz Schools - Tuesday
Do Good (Donation to Amigos for the local Schools), Have Lunch (at Roberto's) and Watch a Fashion Show...It Couldn't Get Better!
Amigos de La Cruz and Gloria's Place in La Cruz are hosting a Fashion Show & Luncheon at Xocolatl by Roberto's Restaurant on Tuesday, January 19th at 1:00 pm.
Fun, Fashions, Fajitas, a Margarita & an Auction with live music by Singer/Guitarist Ivan Antillon.
Garden Club White Party - Tuesday
Please join us for our biggest fundraising event of the year for the Puerto Vallarga Garden Club.
The venue will be Oscar's Restaurant for our "Fiesta Blanca" ("White Party") on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at 6:30 pm. In keeping with the theme, please dress in white attire.
Charity Bingo at Nacho Daddy - Wednesday
Do you like pampering massages and stunning jewelry; live shows; a free night in a hotel; free drinks and delicious food or a free hair make over? You can win these and more at Bingo at Nacho Daddy on Wednesday, January 20!
Come and enjoy Bingo and, once again, live entertainment by "Stolie." She will play a mix of acoustic rock, jazz, oldies covers and originals from 3:00 to 4:00 pm and at the break.
Cards go on sale at 3:00 pm and bingo starts at 4:00 pm. We have a final cash blackout game with the winner taking home half the pot in pesos. Last week's winner won 2600 pesos!
Downtown Vallarta Art Walk - Wednesday
Puerto Vallarta has established itself as a vibrant center of art creation, exhibition and promotion. An important contribution to the city´s art scene is Puerto Vallarta´s ArtWalk which this year will be held every Wednesday, 6:00 - 10:00 pm through May 25, 2016.
The participating galleries in Centro Historico offer works by important national and international artists. Remarkable paintings, exceptional sculptures, fine ceramics, blown glass and other types of noteworthly art are offered.
Tango Lessons in La Cruz - Thursday
Every Thursday, Tango classes will be held at La Cruz' Octopus's Garden with Miriam and Froy.
Miriam Krashnan, originally from Mexico City, and Froyamel Corro, from Morelia, are both classically trained in ballet and modern dance. Their passion for Argentine Tango and their success at the World Tango Festival in Buenos Aires make them sought-after performers and teachers in competitions, festivals and workshops throughout Mexico.
Miriam and Froy are Tango world semi-finalists. They will be leading instruction in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, Riviera Nayarit from 7:00 until 8:30 pm.
Southside Shuffle - Friday
Take a stroll down Basilio Badillo every other Friday evening for art, jewelry, fashion, collectibles, restaurants, food, drinks, live music and fun.
This is one of Vallarta's more festive events and the party runs from 6:00 to 10:00 pm and features live music, cocktails and all kinds of great stuff.
Southside Shuffle dates are January 22, February 5 & 19, March 4 & 18; and April 1 from 6:00 to 10:00 pm.
Mexican Beach Volleyball Tour - Friday, Saturday and Sunday
Rincon de Guayabitos will host the fourth edition of the Mexican Beach Volleyball Tour from January 22-24, 2016; among the players is Nayarit native Juan Virgen and Rodolfo Ontiveros from Sinaloa, the world-class doubles team that’s already in line to represent Mexico in the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics.
The top 32 Men’s and Women’s categories doubles teams in the country will be seeking volleyball glory at the beach in Rincón de Guayabitos (next to the breakwater). The winnings total 60 thousand pesos.
Entrance is free to the general public and activities will begin at 8:30 am sharp local time.
Sobriety Under the Sun - Friday, Saturday and Sunday
The Serenity Group of AA to Host 'Sobriety Under The Sun' Convention in Puerto Vallarta
Year after year we keep having a great weekend of sobriety, fellowship and fun under the sun in beautiful Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico.
Our Sobriety Under the Sun Convention 2016 will take place on January 22-24.
Stay an extra day! The day after the convention there’s a Sober Cruise including breakfast & lunch, whale watching, snorkeling, beach time, an Open meeting on the beach and free time to enjoy the tropical surroundings and fellowship.
Vallarta Cup Race Series - Saturday
The Riviera Nayarit is signaling the start of the sailing season with the traditional Vallarta Cup Race Series. Over two-dozen boats will be competing in this friendly and very festive event.
The Vallarta Yacht Club (VYC) in Nuevo Vallarta will be hosting this series, which will include the participation of the other marinas in the region, including the Marina Riviera Nayarit in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle and the Marina Vallarta.
Races start at noon every Saturday in January, with theme parties every evening. This year the activities will take place on January 9, 16, 23 and 30. Because this is a friendly competition, the boats can participate in one or all the races.
BeefDip Bear Week Celebrations - Sunday
This year's event of BeefDip Bear Week Mexico will take place in Sunny Puerto Vallarta Mexico from January 24th - 31st, 2016.
Our Host Hotels this year will be Torre De Oro (formerly The Abbey Hotel) and Blue Chairs Beach Resort.
We have planned exciting events for the week and have worked close with our travel partners to arrange for affordable air and hotel fares.
