'My Life as a Fish' Fundraiser for Wayland in La Cruz
Most of you know Wayland and Aruna who arrived in La Cruz 25 years ago on a sailboat that they built themselves in England. They are one of the original foreign settlers in La Cruz. Along with their development of a magical spot, the Octopus Garden, they have been very active in support of community activities. They were one of the original founders of APERCH, the predecessor of Amigos de La Cruz. They also started the Summer program, started English classes for the locals and sponsored many fund raising events in El Jardin del Pulpo.
Almost 2 years ago, Wayland fell from a third story roof. This accident left him paralyzed from the neck down. Thanks to a great mental attitude and a determined will to recover Wayland is making a slow but steady recovery.
Wayland still needs all the help he can get now to recover some movement in his body and legs.
Amigos de La Cruz continue to support Wayland's recovery and have organized "My Life as a Fish" Fundraiser on Saturday, February 27 at 5:30 pm.
Of course, the venue will be Octopus's Garden and your 300 peso donation ticket will include live music, Hawaiian dancing and a delicious buffet.
Octopus's Garden Restaurant and Bar is located at Coral #66 in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, Riviera Nayarit.
