Events Not to Miss This Week in Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit

Team Angels - PVAngels
February 29, 2016

Following is just an overview of all the events and festivities happening this week in Vallarta-Nayarit.

Fundraiser for Police & Firemen - Monday

The Amapas Neighborhood Association is helping the Firefighters and Police of Puerto Vallarta to furnish a Bomberos and Police substation at the second entrance to Conchas Chinas.

This substation will help with any incident/accident/fire/medical emergency in less than half the time than the main Police and Bomberos stations would.

JOIN US at Fusion Gourmet on Monday February 29 at 6:00 pm. The restaurant is located at the corner of Pilitas & Amapas across form the Hotel Tropicana in Old Town Vallarta.

Ceviche & Aguachile Market at the Pier - Tuesday

Every Tuesday there is a Ceviche and Aguachile Market taking place on Francisca Rodriguez, the walk-street leading to the Los Muertos Pier in Old Town Puerto Vallarta.

Come and enjoy a variety of ceviche and aguachiles prepared by neighbors, merchants and restaurateurs of the region in this culinary and cultural weekly event.

Enjoy an amazing variety of culinary delights such as coconut shrimp ceviche and return each Tuesday throughout the season between 12:00 and 4:00 pm to sample all the delicious selections while being entertained by live music.

Girls Night Out Murder Mystery - Tuesday

Four women, on their way to an evening at the theatre, stop for dinner at the establishment owned by the ex-husband of one of them. Between the salad and entree, he ends up dead. Each has a reason to wish him dead; perhaps one did more than wish. Perhaps it was one of the other guests. Only unwinding the plot will tell which one is the murderer.

They all have a motive, they all have opportunity, but it is hard to figure out who could really do it....all and all a great little play, and dinner included.

Please join us at Philo's on Tuesday March the 1st at 5:00 pm.

US Register to Vote Assistance - Tuesday and Thursday
It is not too soon to think about registering to vote in the 2016 US primaries and the November 8, 2016 general election from here in Mexico. Some states require you to re-register every year if you live abroad or will be abroad during election periods.

On March 1st and on March 3rd from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm Democrats Abroad Mexico - Costa Banderas Chapter members will be available to help you register to vote in your state's primary and general elections.

We will be set up at The International Friendship Club located at Libertad 105, Puerto Vallarta. We can assist people in signing up to become a member of Democrats Abroad, assist them in voting in Democrats Abroad's Global Presidential Primary, or help them register to vote in the last state in which they voted.

Paws for the Cause Fundraiser - Wednesday

This is our Annual Fundraiser to support the needs of homeless pets in PV, including those at Centro de Acopio (Animal pound in PV).

Our efforts buy much needed food and medication for these animals. Please join us in support of this worthy cause.

We hope you will join us on Wednesday, March 2 from 6:00 until 10:00 pm at the awesome Puerto Vallarta Food Park. We are so excited to partner with the Food Park for this great cause.

Pub Trivia Tournament Fundraiser - Wednesday

It's that time again. This will be our 3rd Vallarta Pub Trivia Tournament on Wednesday, March 2. The venue is Nacho Daddy, doors open at 6:30 and the tournament starts at 7:00 pm.

The teams will consist of 4-5 individuals with ten rounds of ten questions per round. Each team answers on their own and no one gets put on the spot.

We insist that you keep any winnings - no handing it back to the charity.

This will be a great night of fun facts and useless information. Difficulty ranges from ridiculously easy to challenging. Last year teams had their own shirts and outfits made up.

Proceeds will go to support Corazon de Nina Shelter for abused and abandoned children.

Art Auction at Biblioteca Los Mangos - Thursday

The Art Auction at the Puerto Vallarta Public Library is the most important fundraising event of the year.

We would love to have you again with us participating in this fun event. As many of you know we live on donations and charity events as we don't have any significant government support since many years ago.

We are happy to inform you that Thursday, March 3rd Los Mangos Public Library is going to celebrate its 16th Art Auction from 6:00 to 10:00 pm.

Becas Ball Fundraiser - Friday

The always popular Annual Becas Ball will be on March 4th this year at the beautiful Westin Regina Patio in Marina Vallarta.

Enjoy an evening of cocktails, dining, dancing and wonderful entertainment, all the while helping Vallarta’s young people.

Many of the scholarship recipients will be in attendance, so our guests will have an opportunity to talk to the students. So save the date! March 4th, 2016 at 6:00 pm.

Southside Shuffle - Friday

Take a stroll down Basilio Badillo every other Friday evening beginning on November 20 for art, jewelry, fashion, collectibles, restaurants, food, drinks, live music and fun.

This is one of Vallarta's more festive events and the party runs from 6:00 to 10:00 pm and features live music, cocktails and all kinds of great stuff.

Southside Shuffle dates are March 4 & 18; and April 1 from 6:00 to 10:00 pm

Riverfest Fundraiser for Special Needs Kids - Saturday

The 5th annual Riverfest is being held on Saturday, March 5th at El Rio BBQ Bar in Paso Ancho from 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Oldies but Goodies Fundraiser - Sunday
