PuRR Project Fundraiser for 'Senior Center' to Care for Special Needs Cats

If you’re one of the hundreds of people who have visited the PuRR Project shelter in Puerto Vallarta, you’ve met many of our ‘senior citizens.’

Some came to us years ago as feral cats, unadoptable for one reason or another, or simply passed over for adoption and subsequently have lived with us for many years.

The result is an aging population with very special needs. As they age, our ‘old folks’ require more specialized care — some are physically unable to make their way to the feeding areas, some have lost their teeth, their vision or hearing, and most require special food or medicines.

Thus, there is an urgent need to construct a new building specifically for our special needs cats which will allow them to live out their lives in a safe, stress-free environment. The covered structure will be designed to give them shelter from Mexico's unrelenting heat and torrential rains during our long summers. It will also allow our vet to better supervise their on-going care without having to cage them in the clinic.

This new structure will be named "Simona’s Senior Center" in honor of one of our oldest and most popular cats at the ranch. Simona was born with crossed-eyes and bowed forelegs which require daily medication — but neither affliction has slowed her down one bit. No visit to the PuRR Project shelter is complete without a cuddle with Simona, who never met a lap or a shoulder she didn’t love!

You can help us build this shelter by clicking on GoFundMe and making a donation using a credit card or debit card. If you prefer, you may send a check to our U.S. address:

Purr Project USA, Inc
113 Mountain Laurel Drive
Milton, DE 19968

Be sure to note that the donation is for the "Senior Center" and request an official IRS receipt if needed. If you wish to donate pesos locally in Puerto Vallarta, please contact Marilyn at exkhan@usfamily.net for information.

Muchisimo gracias from all of us at PuRR Project — we are so grateful for your continued support!
