Your 200 peso ticket includes an all you can eat BBQ ribs and/or chicken dinner as well as a night of awesome entertainment including Oscar Fuentes, beginning at 7:00 pm.

"We Are Atlas" at Botanical Gardens

The Vallarta Botanical Gardens invites you to join us for the original performance of "We Are Atlas", created by the Terra Firma Summer Camp and also in association with the Banderas Bay Initiative and the University of Guadalajara’s CuCosta Campus.

This colorful, immersive, theatrical journey will carry you through the grounds of the lush gardens, while raising vital questions about our responsibility to our environment, our community, and ourselves.

This one of a kind performance is a culmination of two weeks of exploration and learning, where campers have participated in botanical education, circus and improvisation workshops, mask making, musical jam sessions, dance classes, and poetry projects. The entire show has been written and designed by the campers, including the score, script, set, and costumes.

Please join us on Friday, August 3, at 6:00 pm. The performance will begin at the main gate of Vallarta Botanical Gardens. (Entry fee is 60 pesos per person for non-members.) The Hacienda de Oro will be open after the performance for food, drinks, debate and celebration.

Market Co-op at Paradise Community Center

As most of you know, the Old Town Farmer's Market moved to the Emiliano Zapata School providing much needed space for them. They have closed for the summer but many of the vendors have joined us at the Paradise Community Center.

Come hungry to the Farmer's Market co-op every Saturday morning at 9:00 until 11:30 for a great variety of treats to eat and drink. Vendors offer freshly baked breads, tamales, pies and pastry, coffee, produce and even asian dishes.

Visit the PuRR booth where they always have adorable kitties for adoption, shop the artisan booths for jewelry, ceramics, purses and art objects.

It's always fun and full of treasures.

The Saturday Market Co-op is at the Paradise Community Center, 127 Pulpito, Old Town.

Puerto Vallarta Writers Group Meeting

Most of the published writers are expat residents and make up the core of the Puerto Vallarta Writer’s Group. Attendance at Saturday morning meetings varies from about twenty five during the hot summer months to approaching one hundred as the regular visitors return to spend the winter away from the snow and cold of the US and Canada.

If you ever find yourself in Puerto Vallarta on a Saturday morning, drop in at the Los Mangos library at 10:30 am. You'll be glad you did.

Los Mangos Library is located at Avenida Francisco Villa 1001, Puerto Vallarta.

Game Night at Vallarta Yacht Club

Every Saturday Night will be Game Night starting at 6:00 pm.  We will alternate between Couples Baha Rummy/Mexican Train Night (if enough interest) and X-Box Kinnect Game Night.

Thanks to the generosity of Doug & Susie Morrison, we have the use of their X-Box Kinnect. If you don’t know what that is – you are in for a treat.

Even if you don’t participate physically, we need rooting sections for the teams that will be playing games.

The games range from table tennis or ping pong to bowling and soccer.

We need players of all ages – no skill required except to have fun.

Vallarta Yacht Club is located at Paradise Village in Nuevo Vallarta.

Music of Harry Potter at Teatro Vallarta

Music from one of the most beloved film series, Harry Potter, will be performed by the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Guadalajara for two shows only, Saturday, August 4, 9:00 pm and Sunday, August 5, 12:30 pm at Teatro Vallarta.

Teatro Vallarta is located in El Centro at Uruguay 184, just south of LEY’S grocery store on the main street as you enter downtown.

Admission is 250 pesos for VIP, 200 pesos for Preferente and 150 pesos for General.

Via Recreactiva on Francisco Medina Ascencio

The Via Recreactiva takes place on Sundays from 8:00 am until 2:00 pm in Puerto Vallarta, where vehicle traffic is diverted to the laterals on the main highway from the Sports Stadium (across from the Sheraton Hotel) to the Holiday Inn, making the highway open for public walking, bicycling and running.

Free Performances at Los Arcos Amphitheater

Los Arcos Amphitheater, or Aquiles Serdan Theater, is known for its four stone arches which have become a symbol of the city.

Here free performances are given nearly every night to the delight of locals and visitors.

On Sunday from 6:00 to 7:00 pm, enjoy the music of the Municipal Band. There is Danzon Music in the main square from 7:00 to 8:00 pm and the Xiutla Dancers perform at the Los Arcos Amphitheater beginning at 8:00 pm.

Street venders offer an array of native food and artisans set up their wares for inspection.

Located at the south end of Downtown's Malecon, it is also a perfect spot to watch the sun set behind the natural arches of Los Arcos and beyond to the horizon of Banderas Bay.
