Deja New Consignment Supports Local Charities

Kathleen Palmer - Deja New
August 5, 2012

With the rainy weather, it is a great time to look in your closet and see what you aren't wearing! If you haven't worn it in 6 months, you probably aren't ever going to!

Plus, why leave it in there to get all musty and smelly? Business is still brisk at Deja New. This is also a great time to put a little extra spending money on your Deja New account!

For those of you that don't yet know, Kathleen supports the local charities. Take your bags or boxes of used (or new) clothing that you would like to donate and specify your selected charity. Deja New will then sell the clothes and donate the proceeds to your worthy cause.

Also, tell your friends there are now many charity accounts set up at Deja New to choose from including:

• SPCA de PV
• PURR Project
• Banderas Bay Shelter
• IFC (Cleft Palate Program)
• Pasitos de Luz (Free rehabilitative care to children with severe developmental disabilities)
• Playas Gemalas Scholarship Program
• Worship in Paradise (Compassionate Impact)
• Boutique Theater
• Harkness Instituto (Small school raising money to send gifted students to study in US for the summer)
• Colina (Collette's spay/neuter clinic)
• Asilo San Juan Diego (Senior Citizen Home)
• Los Mangos Library (coming soon)

Or, you can open up an account for any charity that is near and dear to your heart!

An example of how well this works; one of these groups opened an account in April & has raised over 5,300 pesos!

If you are North of the border, start thinking about what you no longer wear and want to bring back with you to sell on your account or to donate to one of the many worthy causes here in Vallarta. It is such a great way to raise money, without any effort! Paying for one $20 suitcase can raise well over 1,000 pesos for a charity.

Please remember clothing must be odor free, clean & in good condition.

Also, don't forget to pick up school supplies while they are on sale at places like Target & Walmart. A box of crayons there is on sale for 10 or 20 cents. Here it is 40 pesos! A $20 suitcase fee & $20 of school supplies at this price is worth about 5,000 - 10,000 pesos! Depending on if you paid 10 or 20 cents per item!

You may drop your consignment or donated items many places, but also at Deja New. Deja New Consignment is located in Old Town Vallarta at 280 Jacarandas (between Cardenas & Carranza), cellular is 044-322-157-4965, email is Dejanewconsign@hotmail.com. Store hours are Tuesday - Saturday, 11:00 am - 7:00 pm during the summer.

Thank you for being a part of Deja New!
