Sweet Corn Festival and Lecture Series in Jala

Head up to Jala to enjoy Jaripeos (Mexican Rodeo), fireworks, and a fair devoted to corn-related products, and of course a prize to the largest corn, which sometimes exceeds 16 inches, all taking place in Jala, Nayarit.

The Corn Fair and Festival is taking place until August 15 in the region where the largest corncobs of the world are grown: another tradition that invites you to visit Riviera Nayarit.

Jala is located in the south part of the State of Nayarit. It borders on the north with the municipalities of Santa María del Oro and La Yesca and on the south with the municipalities of Ahuacatlán and Ixtlán del Río.

This year, there will be a special celebration in Jala, and on Saturday, August 11, there will be a series of lectures around this grain and its importance which will be held at Jala's Municipal Auditorium starting at 2:00 pm.

Here's more information.
