|Siggy wants to go to the Luau!|
Beach Luau at the Sea Monkey: December 9.
This is a fun one that you don’t want to miss!!
Tickets include two drinks, entertainment, great raffle prizes and buffet tables filled with platters of pulled pork, corn on the cob, baked beans, cole slaw, fresh fruit and “kitty” cupcakes.
Once again, all food and drink is generously donated by Troy Valens, owner of Sea Monkey, so ALL proceeds go to the shelter.
Tickets are only 400 pesos ($20 USD) and it always sells out early as space is very limited.
For advance tickets, contact Marilyn at email@example.com.
Our first fundraising event for this season will be another huge garage sale on Saturday, November 12 from 9:00 to 4:00 and Sunday, November 13 from 9:00 to 1:00.
Last year almost everything sold out on Saturday, so plan to come early!!
We’ve been collecting donated items all summer and have a lot of stuff at great prices: Men’s and women’s clothing, household goods, office supplies, Christmas decorations, luggage, handbags, artwork & lots more!
Location is in the Marina at Gaviotas 143. If you need directions or have items to donate, contact Linda at firstname.lastname@example.org or Marilyn at email@example.com.
Simona’s Senior Center is finally done!
A group of volunteers went out to check out the finished building and were very impressed. It is so airy and also easy to keep clean with the tiles walls and floors.
We are now in the process of getting a quote to update the Nursery building…..which a generous donor has offered to underwrite! More on that later.
And speaking of the PuRR Nursery….we are back up to 46 kittens spread out between the nursery, the clinic and another small bungalow.
Unfortunately adoptions are at an all-time low, so many of the older kittens are destined to go into the yard soon as we have to make room for the younger ones. We’ll be back with another adoption post at Daiquiri Dick’s in November on Saturday’s from 10:00-1:00 so hopefully we’ll find some Furr-ever homes for our sweet kitties!
If you don’t follow us on Facebook, then you missed the news and photos of the tree that was uprooted in the yard during a big rain & windstorm last month AND the truck that plowed into the fence by the clinic when it’s brakes failed coming around that corner!! Jose and Carlos did a great job of getting the tree down without damaging any buildings. The owner of the trucking company made repairs to the fence. There’s just never a dull moment here in paradise! PuRR Project’s Facebook Page.
Featured Feline: Kim
Mama Kris and her four kittens (Kim, Khloe, Kourtney & Kevin) were suffering from heat exhaustion and stress after arriving at the shelter in the trunk of a car.
They were quickly cooled off and hydrated and put into a private space where they soon recovered.
Three of the babies are Siamese types and little Kim is the only Tabby.
All are spunky, playful and will soon be ready for adoption.
Contact Linda at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information on giving one of our kittens a Furr-ever home!

It Takes a Village
This old saying is certainly true when it comes to publishing the PuRR Project newsletter each month!
But ours takes three COUNTRIES! It starts of course in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, where volunteer Linda “Bama” Brasseal writes the articles and decides on photos to use. Then everything goes to our translating team of Luz Covarrubias-Garcia and her daughter Judy in Guadalajara. Next both English and Spanish versions go to Shannon Campbell in Manhattan, New York, to publish on the website…..a complicated process using Word Press. Our web designer Griffin Page in Montreal, Canada, does an edit to make sure all links are working…..and then back to Mexico where Bama starts sending out to our readers.
Luz and Judy are both expert translators acknowledged by the Supreme Court of Justice of the State of Jalisco. If you’d like to get an estimate and translate something with them you can contact them at email@example.com. Now they take time out of their busy schedule each month to translate articles for PuRR and they do it because they really LOVE helping the kitties! Be sure to mention PuRR Project for a ‘kitty’ discount!
Griffin Page also designed our fabulous logo and puts together our beautiful calendar each year. You can see samples of her work at Griffin Graffix.
