Refugio Infantil Santa Esperanza (R.I.S.E.)
Thank you for everyone’s response to our first newsletter. We were so impressed with the outpouring of support from people all over the world!
We first wish to recognize the passing of our dear friend and volunteer Donna Dzubay. She was a caring and dedicated volunteer at RISE, she will be missed, and we dedicate this newsletter to her in her memory.
Our Recent Success Stories
Our patron and friend Elle Seaver, a child psychologist from England, has spent countless hours meeting with the staff, patrons, and children to give us professional guidance.
We have 4 new donated laptop computers, a computer room, and a bi-lingual computer instructor will be arriving in January with an assistant to teach our kids how to use them.
Patrons of RISE are meeting continuously to develop a plan for our Vocational Training Center (VO-TEK). This Center will provide skills training for children who will soon be out in the world supporting themselves. A Culinary School is in the works sponsored by Freddy Tucan and he is helping us re-structure the children’s diet to ensure they receive more balanced and nutritious meals.
Your financial support is greatly needed right now!
To continue maintaining our facility and caring for our kids, we greatly need your financial support to make ends meet. Right now we are in a desperate need to maintain our facility and support our children’s programs so we hope you will consider a Holiday donation.
Private Schooling for our kids
Generous donors are sponsoring some of our children in private school. Joel is enrolled in 3rd grade at the British American School where he is learning English, and nine pre-schoolers are attending the Montessori School. These children are thriving and meeting new children.
If you wish to partner in financially helping us support these children’s education, please send us your donation earmarked for this cause.
We need volunteers
To continue our goal of educating the children, maintaining our facility, and communicating with our patrons, we need volunteers for the following committees:
• Marine Boat Training
• Utilities Examination
• Website Maintenance & Email Communication
• Small Maintenance Projects
• Private Education Programs
• Fiesta Involvement
• Fund Raising
If you have any interest in participating in any of these committees, please contact Louise Martin at email@example.com.
We wish to thank you again for your continuing support whether it is through volunteering or financial donations. We receive a small amount of support from the Mexican government but the majority of our financial support comes from private and corporate donations.
Because we are a U.S. non-profit 501(c)(3) Foundation, the money that you donate will receive a U.S. Federal tax deduction if you are a U.S. citizen.
We have an account with Bancomer in Mexico and we have recently set up an account at Wells Fargo Bank in the U.S. where your donation can be sent by personal check or money wire. We now have a professional accounting firm in the U.S. which can receive and deposit your personal checks.
You can send your personal check to our accountant at the following address:
Morey, Jones & Pfeiffer PC - Attn: RISE
3314 North Parham Road
Richmond, VA 23294
Important!! Be sure to address the check to the Refugio Infantil Santa Esperanza or RISE and put the account #0068600178 on the Memo line of the check along with your email so we can send you a donation thank you letter.
