The "Mi Amigo Sin Pelo" which translates to "My Friend Without Hair" event will take place on Sunday, December 4, 2016, at the arches of the Malecon in downtown Puerto Vallarta.

How much value do you place on the life of a child? How much do you value your hair?

The Vallarta Women's Association (la Asociación Femenil Vallartenses) and Children with Cancer (CANICA) invite you to join them in raising funds for the young people with cancer and their families in our community (Cabo Corrientes, Bay of Banderas and Puerto Vallarta).

Citizens can participate actively with contributions and/or the cutting of hair to show support.

Everyone can make a difference in the lives of children and young people with cancer and provide some support to their families by participating in the "Mi Amigo Sin Pelo" project, that for the eighth consecutive year supports CANICA.

The aim of the project is raising awareness among the population and creating more support for those suffering from this evil, in addition to raising funds to help more and more children who require help and can continue without any problem with their treatments.

More than 1000 cases of children and adolescents are diagnosed with cancer annually in the State of Jalisco but more than 70% is cured if detected in time and treatments are not suspended.

Come to the arches on the Malecon on December 4 for the activities beginning at 3:00 in the afternoon.

We are again asking the general public to participate in this project and become a friend to those "without hair."

Evelia Basáñez, of the Women's Association, pointed out that some of the children with cancer must travel to Gradalajara from Puerto Vallarta up to four or fives a month for treatment. Each donation helps to solve the transportation problem in getting these children to the treatment center.

It is hoped that the population will continue to support this noble cause, bringing in acquaintances, friends and family to raise resources that will serve to improve the living conditions of our children.

You may make a donation prior to the event by direct deposit into Santander Serfin, Account 92000720100 on behalf of Asociacion Femenil Vallartense A.C. and bring your receipt the day of the event.

For more information, please contact Evelia Basáñez Márquez, Program Director for CANICA Vallarta and the Vallarta Women's Association, Batallón de San Blas 107, Col Niños Héroes, telephones are (322) 224-9906 and 293-2276, email is asociacionfemenil@yahoo.com.mx.

"Thank you for loving life."
