Trinity stars Ana Letuka Adame, Eli Estrada, and Emperatriz Valles. This musical group features the Act II's Voice of Vallarta winners from 2015, 2016 and 2017 in their debut cabaret show together. The Voice was created in hopes of encouraging local talent to try the stage.
Owner of Act II Entertainment Danny Mininni relates that this trio is the very first Girl Group created in our fair metropolis and he is gratified that around twenty local singers who contested in the VOV have been able to form their living based upon the dream of performing and showcasing each's specific talents. Clubs, cabarets, bars, special events and festivals are now home to those singers who vied for the title. The tournament enabled them to gave self-confidence, smooth over the jitters and perform as they had hoped a lifetime, considering some participants are in their early to mid-twenties. Think of the growth and joy which lay ahead.
Show producer, Alfonso López, says "I am so proud of how far each of these girls has gotten since they each won Voice of Vallarta." The young ladies have created a symbiotic relationship, evident from the first song. Their designed and rehearsed format features solos, duets and trios, as well as dancing, drama and sexy humor. Danny said that each song took over fifteen hours of rehearsing, editing and coordinating movements, all before he was allowed in the room to hear the progress for himself.
Here onstage the trio delighted the crowd with their three-part harmony. The show was created by Alfonso López and Danny Mininni, directed and written by Alfonso López. The soprano, mezzosoprano and alto voices sang as if they had been united as a group on stage for years.
Ana Letuka Adame, 2015 winner, is a Puerto Vallarta resident. Since 2015, Ana has worked at many venues around town and has grown into a successful singer in clubs and lounges. She has also appeared in many Act II shows, including The VOV All Stars concert, several cabaret shows and The Encore Room.
Eli Estrada, 2016 winner, is also a Puerto Vallarta resident, married with children, teacher and psychologist. Eli has had a whirlwind season since her 2016 victory. She performed in two cabaret shows last summer, was a guest performer in many other cabaret nights, then landed the acting role of Christmas Eve in Act II's smash hit play, "Avenue Q". She also performed in Act II's musical hit, "Starting Here, Starting Now". Both shows spotlighted her sweet talent, smile and choreography. Eli is an Act II Hit.
Emperatriz Valles, 2017 winner, is originally from Ciudad Bolivar, Venezuela. Last year, she moved to Puerto Vallarta and was delighted to learn about the Voice of Vallarta competition. She was an impressive contestant, with a rich, velvety tone, captivating attendees with her soulfulness and strength. Emperatriz has had several guest performances since the competition, co-starring in this show, with her own cabaret show later this summer.
The beautiful, not well-known "The Story [I Was Made For You]" was soft, sultry and satiny. Each lady soloed during the production of "Killing Me Softly with His Song", made a classic by Roberta Flack. What was most striking was that the girls and Alfonso chose material which had lovely harmonies in original form. The great Bee Gees, known for exotic and seamless three-part vocals, were covered with "How Deep is Your Love", another well-chosen tune with the arrangements and requirements of fine vocals which these three winning singers delivered to the audience in terrific form.
Alfonso bopped onto the stage and dueted with Eli on the Mexican classic "Bésame Mucho" with the attendees responding loudly and fervently. This girl group is without a doubt a smash and he deserves mucho ovación. Watching the three suave ladies move around the cabaret stage, changing positions, one singing lead, then suddenly the song switches to another lead singer. The glided over the space with elegance and professionalism. Other fine young men, as Luis, joined the thrill of the night, adding a duet of their own, followed by thunderous applause.
The trio lined up and joyously expressed their gratitude in both Spanish and English but the crowd screamed "Otra!" and they appropriately ended with another group known for stunning singular harmony, ABBA: "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! [A Man After Midnight]". With this rocking music echoing in the ears of the listeners, the patrons filed out, declaring that many of them will return for their next show and bring friends with them. They are that good.
