The ECOntainer's Sustainable Environmental Awareness Project was initiated on July 4 and will take place until July 23. The awareness project, located at Integral Port Administration (API) facilities, was inaugurated on Tuesday by the Mayor, Arturo Dávalos Peña, in the company of authorities of the three levels of government.

It is a projection room built inside a marine waste container, whose electrical operation is through panels and a group of batteries capable of storing energy, making this an autonomous and sustainable space.

It carries out a crossing through the 16 federal ports to promote contents of awareness and information on the care of the environment, resources and natural beauties, mainly in children and young people.

The mayor welcomed the ECOntainer and stressed the important work that he carries out among the community and in this case, the strengthening it gives to the works from the different areas that already are realized in the municipality to preserve its natural wealth and to protect its flora and fauna.

He recalled that the areas of Ecology, Education and Tourism already exists in the schools in the awareness of the minors about the importance of having a green port, clean and promoting their care.

To this are added the works for the certification of 8 beaches with Blue Flags, making this one of the destinations with more international distinctions in the country.

For this purpose, it was also noted about the change in the garbage collection system, which is done every day, thus taking care of the image, health and well-being of our natural environment.

"I think everyone from our area is contributing to have a clean, healthy, beautiful Puerto Vallarta where tourists come and we are proud of those who live here and the actions we are doing ecologically for the welfare of all," he said.
