In partnership with Crossfit Zapata, the goal of Greg and Hillary Kennon is to row (on a Concept2 Rowing Machine) for 24 hours straight to reach the distance of 205 miles, the distance from Puerto Vallarta to Guadalajara. We aim to raise enough money to help each family make the trip to their treatment center in Guadalajara at least once.

It is unfathomable to have cancer. It is a disease I hope not one more person in this world will have to experience. Even more unimaginable is spending several hours on a bus and almost $100 US dollars to receive medical treatments each week. Unfortunately, that is the reality for several families in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

Founded in August 2003, CANICA is part of the International Confederation of Organizations for the Help of Children with Cancer (ICCCPO). There are about 30 kids in Puerto Vallarta that CANICA supports. Your donations will help these kids and their families with transportation costs to Guadalajara for their treatments. Guadalajara is approximately 205 miles from Puerto Vallarta and these families have to take a bus to reach the hospital for their treatments. Families pay the full cost of travel from Puerto Vallarta to Guadalajara. For a mother and her child, a round trip ticket costs around 1,463 pesos or about 86 US dollars.

CANICA's mission is to provide comprehensive support to children and young people with cancer who are currently cared for in public hospitals, while respecting their natural dignity as a person.
The pain and discomfort we will experience during our 24 hours of exercise will pale in comparison to what many of these children have to contend with. We hope that we can shine a light on a small group of individuals that are in need of help.

Your support in this endeavor will help these children to get the treatments they need and together, we can help lighten the financial burden on these families in our community.
