The great U.S. solar eclipse of 2017 is over, but the next total eclipse on this continent is less than seven years away: April 8, 2024.
The moon’s shadow will touch ground north of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, then travel northeast, crossing from Texas (including Austin and San Antonio) to Maine. The path of totality in North America ends in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.
One popular selfie spot is sure to be Niagara Falls State Park in New York.
After that, the next total eclipse to cross through the United States won’t be until August 2045.
