PV Firefighters Work to Save Mega Department Store as Fire Consumes Office Max Team Angels - Noticias PV

At ten minutes past midnight this morning, Sunday, August 27, a huge fire was reported at Office Max Puerto Vallarta located at Plaza Las Gloria, next door to the Mega Department Store.

Firefighters and municipal police responded and began to immediately take action and assure no rescues were needed.

At 12:40 am the firefighters reported that "the fire is out of control and we're looking for ways to enter the building. No cause of the fire is known at the moment."

As of 1:00 am, firefighters continued fighting the fire that began in the interior and was gutting the building. No presence of the owners or management of the store were reported at that time.

At 1:20 am, the flames were reaching out to the Mega-Commercial building which the firefighters were working hard to contain and not spread to the adjacent buildings.

The fire was controlled after about two hours and the flames consumed the interior of Office Max, but with the quick and efficient action of our firefighters it doesn't appear damage was sustained by Mega-Commercial.

The fire was contained but emitted a strong smell of burnt industrial products being a stationery and office supply store which was full of objects such as computers, cameras, cell phones, pens and cartridges with ink for printers, among many other office products.
