At the close of this year’s first semester the Riviera Nayarit is retaining its status as a destination that meets the tourist expectations, which was reflected in their general evaluation score of 9.4 in Visitor Satisfaction, with “Safety” and “Hospitality” receiving top marks.
According to the Riviera Nayarit CVB’s Barometer, Mexico’s Pacific Treasure is perceived as “Safe” and “Hospitable” by visitors mainly from the United States, Canada and Mexico; these features received the top scores of 9.7 and 9.6, respectively, with zero as the minimum and 10 as the maximum score.
The numbers stemmed from a series of surveys that took place in hotels, the airport, at events and in restaurants and attractions frequented by visitors. They allow the tourist to rate services and attractions; this data is then used to improve the destination’s tourism product.
As for “Travel Experience,” both national and international tourists gave the Riviera Nayarit a score of 9.5; in the “Would You Recommend” segment they also gave the destination a 9.5, with “leisure” or “relaxation” indicated as the motive for travel in 99% of the surveys. Currently, the top reservation mode to visit the destination continues to be via travel agencies, at 41%.
As for the top attractions in the destination, golf received a 9.8 score, as did hotel activities. Currently the Riviera Nayarit boasts seven magnificent golf courses and is positioned as one of the best golf destinations in Mexico. The key to its success is the combination of the spectacular mountains, tropical jungle and beach, together with the designs of top names including Jack Nicklaus, Greg Norman, Jim Lipe, Robert Von Hagge & Baril and Percy Clifford.
“Mexican Culture,” “Land and Sea Tours,” and “Spas and “Hotels” were also at the top of the list for those who took the survey, receiving score of 9.7, 9.6 and 9.8, respectively.
Top scores were: Tourist Safety: 9.7 | Hospitality: 9.6 | Availability of Information: 9.4 | Cleanliness: 9.3.
