Spanish Classes

The Fall semester is now on, but there is still room for you.

Maria is back for the season with all levels of Spanish classes on Tuesday through Friday.

There are only 15 seats per class taking place throughout the day, so no drop-ins or guests this season.

Choose your level and book your classes now. You must pre-register with Maria by email at maria@paradisecommunitycenter.com.

Global Campaign to Empower Americans Abused Abroad

The Americans Overseas Domestic Violence Crisis Center, AODVC, invites you to attend this FREE information session on Friday, October 26th, 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm, as part of their "Global Campaign to Empower Americans Abused Abroad."

A member of AODVC will present on the services the organization has available to Americans experiencing domestic violence overseas and an American Consulate representative will present on what they can do to assist American victims in Mexico.

Are you interested in making a difference for American women & children abused overseas? Leverage your time, talent and contacts and become a Board Member for 2013 of a national award winning program with an international mission.

According to the US State Department estimate in 2010, 5.25 million American civilians live in foreign countries. If these Americans were in one state, it would be the 17th largest state in the US.

The Americans Overseas Domestic Violence Crisis Center receives funds from multiple foundations & corporations overseas and within the USA. This support has enabled us to help abused American women and children in countries around the world. In addition to providing domestic violence advocacy, safety planning and case management, we assist victims with relocation, emergency funds for housing and childcare, and funds for payment of legal fees.

The presentation is free to attend but donations are appreciated and tax deductible.
There are two dinner options. Choose from Fresh Seafood Linguini with side salad and garlic toast or Linguini Marinara with side salad and garlic toast (vegetarian/allergy option). Dessert will be Hot Fudgey Brownie with Whipped Cream w/ Americano coffee (decaf or regular). Price is 130 pesos (USD $10.00) for entree and dessert; 45 pesos (USD $3.50) for dessert/coffee only (all prices INCLUDE 15% gratuity for our service staff). A Cash Bar will be open during event. Guests wishing to pay cash on-site for their meal must RSVP on or before Wednesday, October 24th, to linda@paradisecommunitycenter.com. Guests wishing to pre-order their meal and pay with a credit card, may do so through the PCC website.

Doors open at 6:00 pm for optional dinner/dessert. Presentation begins at 7:30 pm.

Fun 'n Games Night

Beginning on November 1, 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

Every Thursday night, the Paradise Community Center is open to you and your friends to drop in and enjoy some fun and games!

Bring your own cards or other board games, or you can use ours. Try your luck at Texas Hold 'Em poker, but come early because poker seats are limited.

The Paradise GardenGrill and Cantina are open to serve you.

Dia de los Muertos Dinner & Concert

On November 2, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, PCC presents Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) Traditional Dinner & Concert.

Featuring Bob Tansen, Enrique Jiminez & Freddy, this concert will showcase a very unique and very entertaining blend of traditional Mexican-themed music with Scottish folk selections celebrating the memories and legacies of the dearly departed.

The traditional Dia de los Muertos Dinner features Pibipollos (corn dough filled with chicken, vegetables and Yucatan seasonings, wrapped in banana leaf and baked); Tamales (various fillings wrapped in corn husks), and Pan de los Muertos (sweet bread).

Donation for dinner and the concert is 250 pesos, or 150 pesos for the concert only.

Saturday Market Co-op

On November 3, the Saturday Market Co-op will return to the usual hours of 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Come and browse your favorite market vendors for freshly baked breads, quality organic vegetables, authentic English pies, prepared-fresh Thai dishes, gourmet chili, gorgeous flowers and so much more.

Many favorite and familiar market vendors will be offering their services and products: The Artesian Bakery, Mavi Grafs Arts Culinario, Flowers-To-Go, Marks Leek & Thistle Pie Company, Narisas Thai Kitchen, Krystal Frosts Organic-Select, Lianas Paradise Bakery Cinnamon Rolls and Sids World Famous Chili will all be there.

Shades of the Blues

November 14, 21, 28, December 5 and December 12, 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm.

This new show stars local favorite Mikki Prost with an all-hit lineup of music from many genres, with a solid blues undertone.

Accompanied by Jarrett Lewis on the keyboard, Mikki is sure to entertain you in this wonderful meander down a very blue memory lane.

Gates open 5:00 pm for dinner. Happy hour is 6:30 to 7:30 pm. Show starts at 7:30 pm.

Community Thanksgiving Dinner

Thursday, November 22, 4:00 pm - 6:30 pm.

Join us for a traditional family-style Thanksgiving celebration.

We're serving up roasted turkey with sage stuffing; country-style garlic mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, lettuce salad with bacon dressing, and of course... cranberry sauce. Served with homemade pumpkin pie and real whipped cream.

Everyone is welcome!

The dinner is 225 pesos for adults and 100 pesos for children under 12.

Black Friday BAZAAR

November 23, 7:00 am - 12:00 pm

It's our FIRST ANNUAL Black Friday Bazaar! It's a giant flea market filled with tables of interesting and gently used items for sale.

First 25 people through the gates get free coffee and a special PRIZE (and of course, first crack at the goods!)

Tables available to rent for only 100 pesos for the day.

Paradise GardenGrill and Cantina will be open to serve you.

Dolly Would if Kenny Could

November 24, 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm.

They're back! Vallarta has called again and Dolly & Kenny just can't resist. Local performers and husband and wife team Todd Ringness and Gaye Ringness team up to present the hits of Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers in this tribute concert.

A great mixture of their songs with some surprise medleys and laughs along the way. It's a great night with friends just waiting to happen.

Gates open for dinner at 5:00 pm. Happy Hour: 6:30 - 7:30 pm. Show starts at 7:30 pm.

John Lennon Commemorative Concert

December 7, 5:00 pm - 10:00 pm.

On the eve of the anniversary of his death, this special First Friday concert features local performers Bob Tansen, Oscar Terrazas, Enrique Jimenez and of the course, the timeless music of John Lennon and The Beatles.
