Investours, a local non-profit organization that supports artisans throughout the Bay of Banderas, will be hosting their semi-annual Fair Trade Evening Market at La Luna Restaurant (466 Venustiano Carranza) on November 8, 2012, from 6:30 until 9:00 pm.

Marichuy will be selling her famous banana bread. She finished the sentence "I believe women are..." with "the pillar of a family."

This is a unique opportunity to sample authentic Mexican cuisine from communities throughout Banderas Bay, purchase artisanal products made by local women, and enjoy a great night of music and some amazing prizes.

The last Fair Trade Market in April was a huge success, with over 200 people attending to support local female artisans and celebrate Mexican culture. The November 8th event promises to be even bigger, with a raffle that includes luxurious prizes from the St. Regis Resort, local spas, and well-renowned restaurants. Not to be missed!

Investours is a non-profit organization that hosts ethical, cultural tours for socially responsible travelers. On an "investour," travelers are brought intimately into the lives of local artisans who are seeking small loans to improve their business projects.

This is an opportunity to gain a perspective of the "real" Mexico, eat traditional foods, and make a difference in someone's life because Investours uses tour proceeds to support interest-free loans for the artisans visited.

Attending the market will give you a chance to meet many of Investours' clients while you sample and browse products from throughout the regions of Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit.

The event was made possible by several local sponsors, including La Luna Restaurant, Mexi-Go Magazine, Vallarta Food Tours, L.O.C.A. (Ladies Outdoor Club Adventures), the Punta Mita Foundation, Gemm TV, Plush Catering and Events, Healthcare Resources Puerto Vallarta, Floydilou Kerr of the Drop-in Art Studio in Bucerias, Restaurant & Sports Bar COEXISTcafé, PV Sea Dive, Corazón de Niña, Yoga Vallarta, Journey Mexico, Amigos de Bucerias, Charlotte Rempfer, Sue Fornoff and Harold Sokolove.
