Winter Activity Camp For Kids During Holiday Recess Aly Conley - Amigos de La Cruz

After the resounding success of the Summer School Program, the Amigos de La Cruz has decided to sponsor a Winter School activity camp for the kids of all ages in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, Nayarit.

From December 28 through January 5, we are hosting activities centered on music, art, circus, theatre and international culture, followed by a public exhibition of the accomplishments.

The overall objective of the winter camp is to engage children in projects that call on the faculties of creativity and imagination, with the intent that when they return to school in January, they will take the independence and self-confidence that grows out of discovering new methods of expression and apply these qualities in schoolwork and other recreational activities.

Your support would be greatly appreciated! We are looking for: volunteers, material donations or monetary donations.

Anything helps, and it all goes to giving kids the opportunity to learn, expand their cultural and local awareness and have fun!

Items needed

• Sunscreen
• Art supplies for any medium (paint, clay, pens, paper, pencils, pipe cleaners etc.)
• Rubber bands
• Beach buckets and shovels
• Needles and thread
• Fabric scraps
• Knee socks (circus toys)
• Stickers
• String
• Canvas
• Theatre props or costumes

Monetary donations go to provide other supplies as well as water and snacks for the kids.

If possible, please bring your donations to us at Hikuri/Octopus's Garden on Coral Street prior to the start of the program.

However, if you have things you would like to donate but won't be here until after the holidays, we can always use them for the summer program – don't hesitate to bring them in.
