PETA's "I, Chicken" uses the most cutting edge virtual reality (VR) hardware available to allow college students to experience life as a chicken. (peta2TV)
Isaac Asimov’s first rule of robots reads, “A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.”
With its “I, Chicken” project, PETA is turning that first science fiction edict from I, Robot on its head, placing humans on a virtual reality kill line alongside other members of their digitized poultry flock. There’s no robot-on-human violence here; the idea is to have the viewer experience everything right up to the moment of slaughter.
