Associated Press Update: Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai on Thursday expressed sympathy for a Mexican asylum seeker who jumped onto the stage during the award ceremony in Oslo, and said the incident didn't frighten her. Police said the flag-waving 21-year-old, who has applied for political asylum in Norway, was fined 15,000 kroner ($2,100) for disturbing the peace and sent back to an asylum center.

A brave young man holding a Mexico flag jumped on stage to stand by Nobel peace prize laureate Malala Yousafzai and ask for help as she received the award in Oslo, Norway on Wednesday (December 10).

“Please Malala … don't forget Mexico,” the intruder is alleged to have said. The young man was swiftly caught by security guards, who bundled him off stage, teleSUR reports.
