In Mexico City, women regularly face threats and assaults when they use taxis.

There has also been an increase in the number of murders of women by male drivers working for ride-hailing services.

But one new taxi app is trying to improve safety by only hiring female drivers.

Al Jazeera’s John Holman reports from Mexico City.
