MEXICO CITY — A shock video "mockumentary" showing children as kidnappers, corrupt police officers and drug traffickers is drawing both criticism and praise in violence-torn Mexico.
Kids about eight to 12 years old are seen sticking each other up, bribing each other and engaging in shootouts in a mock Mexico made up entirely of children.
The video is produced by a foundation supported by private companies and universities.
At the end of the video the children ask the candidates in Mexico's July 1 presidential election to do something to stop the violence and corruption.
All the main-party candidates praised the video Thursday but some legislators are calling it child abuse and asking it be banned.
