From August 10th to August 18th, 2013, 64 nations will take part in the 11th edition of the Homeless World Cup annual tournament, in Poznan, Poland.
The city of Poznan is well known for its international sporting events such as International Show Jumping, the IFC Canoe Sprint World Cup and the International ATP Poznan Open. Poznan was also a UEFA Euro 2012 host city.
The competition will take place at Lake Malta, a popular destination for locals and tourists throughout the summer months. Lake Malta offers an excellent combination of scenic surroundings and professional sports facilities.
48 countries will participate in the men’s competition and 16 in the women’s competition with many new women's teams and new mixed team: Northern Ireland.
Last year’s event which was held in the famous Zocalo Square in the center of Mexico City was a huge success with 168,000 spectators turning up to watch the grit and glory of the Homeless World Cup. The excitement should be no different this year.
