Festival Internacional De La Cultura Maya 2013 (Julio Armando Moreno Parra)

In order to position Yucatan in the sphere of major international cultural encounters, the International Festival of Mayan Culture (FICMAYA) is ready to welcome more than 450 events with the participation of more than 500 artists.

At a press conference, the head of the National Council for Culture and Arts (CONACULTA), Antonio Crestani, highlighted that from October 17 to November 3 the youngest international festival of the country will take place in Yucatan in favor of the Maya culture that is still alive.

A federal official pointed out that the Yucatan festival enters into the most important festivals in the country such as, the Alfonso Ortiz Tirado Festival in Sonora , the Sinaloa Cultural Festival , the Cervantino Festival in Guanajuato, the International Book Fair of Guadalajara, the Historic Center Festival of Mexico City, the Film Festival of Morelia and the Ciudad de las Ideas of Puebla.
