Hundreds of clowns have paraded to the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City as part of an annual pilgrimage to thank the country’s patron saint and to ask for her blessings and continuing protection over the coming year.
The yearly event brings clowns of all ages to one of Latin America’s most recognisable religious sites for a colourful mass.
The clowns sang, juggled and joked their way toward the basilica, along the famous avenue, the Calzada de Guadalupe.
