Would you like to learn how to produce and edit a documentary?

The International Convention Center and Estero El Salado in Puerto Vallarta invite you to the Video Documentary Workshop to be held from February 21 - 23, 2013.

Everything you need to know about producing and editing video documentaries will be presented in this three day workshop at the Puerto Vallarta Convention Center with field practice in the adjacent Natural Protected Area of El Estero Salado.

The target audience will be students, teachers, reporters, public and philanthropic institutions protecting wildlife, nature and public researchers in general.

You will learn about the production of documentaries on video as a tool for visual communication of your work, research, or simply if you enjoy filming and video production.

The objective of the workshop is to enable participants to learn about the management of video equipment and its use to learn the process of making a documentary with basic equipment.

Topics will include:

• Types of camera and professional & domestic controls
• Shooting composition
• Filming in adverse conditions
• The realization of commercial and documentary production
• Production, pre-production preparation process
• Selection of microphones for recording studio and outdoor
• Handling effects and titles
• Incorporation of audio
• Use of the script
• Camera movements
• Principles of optics
• Basic maintenance of equipment

On Thursday, February 21, and Friday, February 22, the workshop will be presented from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. On Saturday, February 23, the hours will be 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.

The highly skilled professionals teaching the workshop will be Hugo Hernández Traversaro, Publicist & Media Advisor, and Ray Dion, Producer, Television of Canada. Ray is fluent in English, Spanish & French and associated with PromovisionPV.

If you pre-register before February 15, the cost of the workshop is 1,500 pesos per person. From February 16, registration will be 1,800 pesos. (Space is limited to 15 attendees)

You will receive Bibliographic Material & Manual, coffee breaks and workshop recognition.

The theoretical portion of the course will be held in the Halls of Training at the Centre International Convention of Puerto Vallarta (Puerto Vallarta Convention Center), and field practice will take place in the adjacent Natural Protected Area of El Salado in Puerto Vallarta.

Requirements for participants:

• Laptop or portable computer
• Photo / Video Camera, preferably with microphone
• Camera cables and accessories
• Participants must be over 14 years of age
