On February 15th and March 15th, 2012, from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm, there will be a live auction taking place at Bahia del Sol in Nuevo Vallarta in order to raise funds for the Nuevo Vallarta Turtle Preserve, through AMA Mexico - the Association for Environmental Unity.

Paintings, sculptures, metal art, bronze sculpture by Octavio, quilted art by Karen and more will be on auction.

There will be a special lunch by the Seahorse Restaurant.

All proceeds will help Save the Turtles at the Nuevo Vallarta Turtle Reserve.

In 2011 this organization raised funds to purchase two off-road vehicles to provide security and surveillance for the turtle preserve.

AMA Mexico is dedicated to the education of future generations of turtle conservationists. Hundreds of children from Mexico and abroad participate in activities each year that encourage them to become stewards of the oceans.

By working with Mexico's Ministry of Education in Nayarit's local schools and by offering hands-on experience during hatchling releases, they hope to instill in these eager visitors to the Nuevo Vallarta Sea Turtle Preserve a love of the sea and all its precious creatures.

Bahia del Sol Resort is located at Avenida Cocoteros y Retorno Cozumel, Nuevo Vallarta, Nayarit.

For more information about the turtle preserve or these two events, contact Jim Casey at amigosdeplayapuntamita@gmail.com.

We hope you show up to bid and help protect our sea turtles.
