The Puerto Vallarta 2014 Bugambilia Festival is scheduled for May 9-12.
To set the stage for the festival and announce all we have planned in May, a Gala Cocktail Party will be held at the beautiful "Casa Chickie" in Coto San Xoaquin (see detailed map below) on Thursday, February 27th from 6:00 to 8:30 pm.
Besides the gorgeous setting, food, wine, and entertainment will all be featured. A detailed description of the Opening Parade, the Floral Design Competition, the Afternoon Tea, and Mother’s Day Brunch, plus much more, will be available at the party.
Tickets for the event are 400 pesos, and can be obtained at Carol's Boutique on Basilio Badillo, Mailboxes etc. at Ignacio Vallarta 130, and Galeria Dante on Basilio Badillo. You can also purchase tickets from a Garden Club Board Member, such as Matthias Vogt, telephone is (322) 222-4019, email is matthias.vogt@usa.net. He will deliver the tickets to you.
The Bugambilia Festival is an annual event which is part of PV Garden Club’s efforts to make Puerto Vallarta the Bougainvillea Capital of the World. May is a great month for bougainvillea, but is also a month when tourism normally drops dramatically. In a town dependent on tourism for its economic viability, extending tourism by one more month can make an enormous difference to Puerto Vallarta. The festival should draw visitors from all over Mexico and the United States and Canada and induce residents to stay through the month of May also.
Puerto Vallarta Garden Club’s mission is to beautify and protect the environment through civic planting projects and enhance the natural beauty of Puerto Vallarta for the benefit of the community at large.
To date PVGC has planted well over 200 Amapas and Primavera Trees and many different colors of bougainvillea along Olas Altas, Basilio Badillo, Insurgentes, Ave Vallarta and Avenida Mexico and the Mercado Cuale.
