We are pleased to announce that Dr. Leslie Korn will be our guest speaker at the Puerto Vallarta Garden Club General Meeting on Thursday, April 17 at 11:00 am at Paradise Community Center.

Dr. Leslie Korn is author of "Rhythms of Recovery: Trauma, Nature, and the Body." Her topic will be "Traditional Healing and Medicinal Plants of Bahia de Banderas."

Dr. Korn has worked for over 35 years in private practice and community mental health specializing in integrating psychotherapy and complementary and alternative medicine for the treatment of traumatic stress and chronic physical illness.

Tickets will be available at the meeting for the Bugambilia Festival special events – the Opening Event Cocktail Party Friday night, May 9 and the special Mother’s Day Brunch and fashion show on Sunday, May 11. Individual tickets are 350 pesos.

Come a bit early to pick up your tickets, a tee-shirt, or just socialize!

Election of President, Vice-President, and Secretary will take place at this meeting. Our slate of officers to be presented are Bonnie Mott, President, Kimberley Bennett, Vice-President, and Terri Fine, Secretary. Nominations will also be taken from the floor also.

After the meeting, many of us are going to head across the street for lunch at Coco’s Kitchen. About a dozen of us did that last month and we had a very good time.

While we've got your attention, we invite you to join us at our Weeding/Planting/Pruning Party. On Tuesday, April 15, we’ll focus our garden work on pruning. Suzanne Kirkpatrick is going to provide leadership on how to prune and volunteers are needed to assist our gardener, Carlos, cutting up and bagging his trimmings. Meet at 9:00 am at the corner of Basilio Badillo and Insurgentes. We’ll be working Basilio Badillo.

Paradise Community Center is located at Pulpito 127 in Old Town Vallarta.
