Events Not to Miss This Week in Puerto Vallarta & Riviera Nayarit Team Angels - PVAngels

Following is just an overview of all the events and festivities happening this week in Vallarta-Nayarit.

Evening at the Birdcage at The Palm - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday 

Back to The Palm Cabaret arrive two celebrity impersonators Joe Posa and Scott Townsend (aka Thirsty Burlington). Their new show, nearly sold-out, a fabulous ride of comedy and music, is "An Evening at the Birdcage". Supplementing their impersonations was Cher singing live, the rest lip-synched. It is surprising since the two stars are able to look like the celebrities, act like them, sing and talk, too. Quite an accomplishment, all with incredible likenesses and gorgeous costumes.

The duo will be performing this terrific and creative show at The Palm Cabaret through March 21, 9:30 pm.

PuRR Sunset Fundraiser at Daiquiri Dicks - Tuesday

Please come for cocktails, a splendiferous array of hors d'oeuvres - and a front-row seat for one of Vallarta's fabulous sunsets on Daiquiri Dick's outdoor deck on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 from 5:30 until 7:30 pm.

Included in the ticket price will be live entertainment by Muruno, and a raffle for outstanding prizes like two signed Marta Gilbert prints, gift certificates for a Mexican cooking class and a food tasting and cultural walking tour, a beautiful garment donated by Sucesos Boutique, a gorgeous piece of jewelry designed and donated by June Rosen Lopez, a romantic dinner for two on the beach, and so much more!

All proceeds benefit the PuRR Project.

Bahia Soccer Cup Tournament - Wednesday through Sunday

The very first Copa Bahía to take place in the Riviera Nayarit was announced in press conferences held in Banderas Bay and Tepic, where they gave details about this regional soccer tournament, which is open to children and youths.

The cup will be held March 11-16, 2015, on six top-notch playing fields. It will include six categories spanning kids born from 1997 to 2007; the first three categories will be mixed and the other three will be strictly for male players.

International Film Festival - Wednesday through Sunday
 
The 15th International Film Festival (FICPV) will return to Puerto Vallarta on March 11 - 20, 2015 at University of Guadalajara Centro Universitario de la Costa (CUCosta).

Four sections will integrate this edition of the FICPV: the Official Section, the Diversity Section, the Gourmet Section and the Academic Section.

Kirtan Chanting at IFC - Thursday 

The International Friendship Club (IFC) will present an Introduction to Kirtan Chanting on Thursday March 12 at 7:00 pm at the IFC Clubhouse.

Classically trained local musician Raoul Díaz de la Garza will lead an hour of Kirtan chanting. Kirtan is call-and-response chanting performed in India's bhakti devotional traditions. Kirtan practice involves chanting mantras in the beautiful ancient language of Sanskrit to the accompaniment of instruments. Raoul will play the harmonium and guide the chants.

National Harley Davidson Rally - Thursday through Saturday

Harley Davidson of Mexico will once again be setting the stage for the Sixteenth National Harley Davidson Jalisco Rally 2015 with festivities from March 12 - 14 taking place in Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta.

More than fifteen hundred motorcycles from different states of Mexico are expected to arrive in Guadalajara on March 12 where the riders will be treated with the music of mariachis, distinguished gastronomy, a charra party of beautiful horses with stylish traditional costumes and a full program of events.

The HOGs will head to Puerto Vallarta on Saturday, March 14 while enjoying the beautiful countryside between Guadalajara and the West Coast of Mexico.

Chacala Music Festival - Thursday through Sunday

Something Magical & Musical is happening at the heart of Riviera Nayarit, in the crown jewel village of Chacala-by-the-sea … a four day & night celebration of music … a festival … an unforgettable bringin’-in-the-spring fling!

This year, the Chacala Village Music Festival will take place from March 12-15, 2014.

Entertainment includes performances by the Banderas Bay Jazz Allstars, Luna Rumba, Time 2 Play, Folklorical Dancers, Mariachis, and so much more including children's programs and the margarita contest.

Chili CookOff at El Rio BBQ - Saturday 

The American Legion Post 14 of Puerto Vallarta are sponsoring their 3nd annual charity chili cook-off featuring more than 19 recipes from a broad range of sponsors, including restaurants and individuals.

This always popular event will be held on Saturday, March 14th from 1:00 to 5:00 pm at El Rio BBQ Bar alongside the Cuale River in Paso Ancho.

It's "all you can eat" chili plus one order of riblets and fruit water for only 200 pesos per person. El Rio regular menu items are also available for purchase. Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance from any of the event's sponsors, including Post 14 Hqd. at Steve's Sports Bar on Basilio Badillo. You won't want to miss this one!

Charities benefiting from the cook-off include Banderas Bay Women's Shelter, Youth Sports, benefiting Torpedos American Football (Pop Warner 6 to 17), DIF New Life Home for Boys and Community Relations Projects of the American Legion.

Voice of Vallarta Competition - Sunday 

Act II Entertainment has spent the summer and after hundreds of auditions they have narrowed the field to 24 of the best.

The reality show competition season opener will be on December 7 and will continue every Sunday at 8:00 pm until the big closing night on April 19, 2015 hosted once again by Juan Pablo Hernandez who turns SPANGLISH into an art form!

Farmers Markets in Vallarta-Nayarit - Every day of the week 

You'll see on our Events Calendar that there is at least one Farmers Market every day of the week in different locations around the Bay.
