A few weeks ago we told you about the 2015 edition of the Summer Camp that Peace Punta de Mita was organizing for the kids from the local communities. Well, time flies and now we would like to share with you the results of this awesome initiative.
During two weeks kids from Higuera Blanca and Punta de Mita were part of the most amazing Summer Camp where they participated and in a wide variety of activities and classes.
This last Friday, July 31st the Summer Camp celebrated its closing ceremony where 150 happy children demonstrated what they had learned during this extraordinary summer adventure. Proud parents, friends and family members attended to watch the performances, a clown show entertained the kids offering much amusement and laughs to both kids and adults. There was music, an art exhibit showcasing the pieces made during the course, a lot of dancing, sports and educational discussions with the local Police Officers who generously took the kids for a ride in the Police patrol car, and to finalize a day of fun and learning, a big piece of cake to make those smiles on the kid´s faces last longer.
Peace Punta de Mita would like to give special thanks to Fundación Punta de Mita for their financial support for this year’s Summer Camp, to Coca-Cola for providing lots of water and tents, which provided shade for teachers and students; to both hotels, The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort and Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita, for donating healthy and delicious lunches for 150 kids every day, and to the Ayuntamiento Bahia de Banderas and Municipal Police for all their instruction about “Prevención del delito,” for the fun they had with the community, and the rides they gave to the kids in the patrol cars on the last day. And of course they thank all the wonderful teachers who worked very hard. Their passion, dedication, enthusiasm creativity and positive attitude paid off to make a wonderful and successful event.
