Join the Democrats Abroad Costa Banderas Chapter for the series of Academy Awards nominated movies to begin on February 20 and continuing until February 27.

The venue for the screenings will be ArtVallARTa in the San Franciscan Theatre where we have actual theater tiered seating in a cool (temp) location and it's on a quiet street at 213 Pilatas in Old Town Puerto Vallarta.

Saturday, February 20
2:00 pm: Room - After five-year-old Jack and his mother escape from the enclosed surroundings that Jack has known his entire life, the boy makes a thrilling discovery.
7:00 pm: Brooklyn - An Irish immigrant lands in 1950s Brooklyn, where she quickly falls into a romance with a local. When her past catches up with her, however, she must choose between two countries and the lives that exist within.

Sunday, February 21
2:00 pm: The Revenant - A frontiersman on a fur trading expedition in the 1820s fights for survival after being mauled by a bear and left for dead by members of his own hunting team.
7:00 pm: The Big Short - Four denizens in the world of high-finance predict the credit and housing bubble collapse of the mid-2000s, and decide to take on the big banks for their greed and lack of foresight.

Monday, February 22

2:00 pm: Spotlight - The true story of how the Boston Globe uncovered the massive scandal of child molestation and cover-up within the local Catholic Archdiocese, shaking the entire Catholic Church to its core.
7:00 pm: Bridge of Spies - During the Cold War, an American lawyer is recruited to defend an arrested Soviet spy in court, and then help the CIA facilitate an exchange of the spy for the Soviet captured American U2 spy plane pilot, Francis Gary Powers.

Wednesday, February 24
2:00 pm: Mad Max Fury Road - A woman rebels against a tyrannical ruler in postapocalyptic Australia in search for her home-land with the help of a group of female prisoners, a psychotic worshipper, and a drifter named Max.

Oscar Night Gala Celebration - February 28 - The week will culminate in the live-streaming of the Awards Ceremony and an awards gala celebration. Stay tuned for details about the gala when pricing and specifics are available.

For the Democrats Abroad Academy Award film screenings, pre-show ticket donations are 75 pesos for each show or 70 pesos if you purchase 10 tickets or more at one time. Tickets are 100 pesos at the door with no guarantee of availability. To be sure, make your donations in advance on Monday-Friday from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm at ArtVallARTA or The San Franciscan.
