Many organizations have worked over the years to try to help our Bomberos (Firefighters and Lifeguards) with donations and support.

One of those organizations is Firefighters Crossing Borders!

Firefighters Crossing Borders is a US based non-profit organization founded by Firefighters for Firefighters. Members are active and retired Firefighters from the USA, Canada, and Mexico working to assist the Bomberos in Mexico to help them avoid injury while providing a better level of service.

They’ve provided advanced training, equipment, and vehicles to the Bahia and Vallarta fire departments for many years.

Bomberos in Mexico are under-supported by their governments! Funds required for FIRE, EMS, and RESCUE services at International norms are simply not available to State and Local governments. Collection of taxes and other sources of revenue is different in Mexico than the US and Canada. The available funds are allocated and managed differently, many times resulting in Directors of Civil Protection y Bomberos not being able to purchase or repair Fire, EMS and Rescue equipment when required. The end result is Bomberos many times lack the equipment and training to do their difficult jobs in a safe, effective manner. Not only are they at risk, but those they protect do not receive the level of service they deserve. Firefighters Crossing Border’s members and others do what we can to assist our Bomberos to be safe and effective.

The FFCB in partnership with the Punta de Mita Foundation established the Bahia-Vallarta Fire EMS Fund for the sole purpose of assisting efforts to help support the local Bomberos and provide a means to accept donated funds here in Mexico.

On March 29th, FFCB is holding their first fund raising event in Bucerias, from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at the Pizzanteria Restaurant.

Come out and meet your Bomberos!

They will be presenting their own show, modeling in “The Many Looks of Service” to demonstrate the different uniforms and equipment they wear while providing different types of services: Emergency Operations such as Firefighting for Structures or Wildlands, Auto Extrication, Rope Rescue, Surf Rescue, Hazmat, Pre-Hospital Care, Heavy Search & Rescue, along with their Station & Dress uniforms.

They will have emergency vehicles and tools on display, and there will be a photo session with the Bomberos for the guests at the end of the show.

We'll have live music by Zoe Wood and The Traveling Band.

Donation tickets are only 200 pesos per person. Seating is limited so buy in advance if possible. Tickets are available at The Luna Lounge Box Office in Bucerias, Av Mexico 27, Monday - Friday from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm. In La Cruz, contact Karen Cope by telephone at (322) 147-4831.
