The Mexican National J/70 Championship will be held in Banderas Bay May 5-7, 2017.
Headquarters for the activities will be the Vallarta Yacht Club by Paradise Village in Nuevo Vallarta.
Event Schedule:
May 3-4 - Boat lauching from the VYC crane will be done according to schedule. Please contact onthewater@vallartayachtclub.org to arrange for a launching time
May 5 - 9:30 - 11:30 am - Registration in the VYC Clubhouse
May 5 - 1:00 pm - Race Day 1
May 6 - 1:00 pm - Race Day 2
May 7 - 1:00 pm - Race Day 3
May 7 - 6:30 pm - Trophy Presentation
May 8-9 - Boat Retrieval - Retrieval with the VYC crane will be done according to schedule. Please contact onthewater@vallartayachtclub.org to arrange a time
According to Wikipedia: "The J/70 is a small racing keelboat, built predominantly of fiberglass. It has a fractional sloop rig, a transom-hung rudder, a retractable bowsprit and a fin keel. It displaces 1,790 lb (812 kg) and carries 628 lb (285 kg) of lead ballast. The boat features a very large asymmetrical spinnaker with an area of 491 sq ft (45.6 m2)."
